The station-bound route runs southwest from the airport
The airport is northeast of central Tokushima, on the coast of Matsushige · 松茂町. The station-bound route heads southwest and crosses the Yoshino River · 吉野川 into the city.
The route to Naruto is different from the route to Tokushima Station because it goes north from the airport.

From the arrival lobby to the Tokushima Station bus
- After immigration, baggage claim and customs, enter the first-floor arrival lobby. You do not need to go upstairs to departures.
- Find the limousine-bus ticket machine labeled リムジンバス券売機. The first-floor map marks its location; the machine supports transit IC cards and QR payments. Without a prepaid ticket, pay when getting off with cash, a supported contactless bank card or a transit IC card.
- Go outside to bay 1. Look for リムジンバス and 徳島駅前, the destination in front of Tokushima Station. UZS BUS also uses bay 1 but goes toward Naruto and Awaji. Bay 2 beside it is for local route buses.
- Board the Tokushima Bus airport limousine. It does not accept seat reservations. If full, use a later bus or taxi. Ask about large luggage before boarding, and keep power banks with you rather than in the underfloor compartment.
- The airport-origin bus stops at Tokushima University, Central Park/Court North · 中央公園・裁判所北, then Tokushima Station. Intermediate stops allow passengers to get off, not board. For a station-area hotel, stay on to the final stop, collect your bags and move onto the pedestrian walkway.
The adult one-way fare is 800 yen, applying from junior-high-school age; the child fare is 400 yen. There is no railway station at the airport. Airport payment and reservation guidance ↗ · Operator routes and timetable ↗ · Bays 1 and 2 map ↗ · Reviewed 2026-10-04

Walking from the station to your hotel
The final stop is the plaza south of JR Tokushima Station. The operator’s station map places the arrival area west of the station entrance. Follow the driver’s instructions for the actual stopping point, collect your bags and identify the station building before walking.
Airport-bound bay 15 is for your return journey, not the arrival drop-off. The station building and JR Hotel Clement are north of the plaza; Amico is west and Daiwa Roynet Hotel is east. For hotels south of the station, use the pedestrian paths around the plaza rather than going through the rail gates.
Plan the walk to the hotel’s entrance, not just a search result marked “near Tokushima Station.”

Walk southwest via Shinmachi Bridge
From the station’s south-side plaza, walk southwest toward Shinmachi Bridge · 新町橋. Cross the Shinmachi River, then follow the street toward Mount Bizan to the hall’s front entrance.
The official tourism guide gives about a 10-minute walk from the station. Add time to leave the bus arrival area and wait at crossings. If your hotel accepts luggage, dropping bags off first can make sightseeing easier.

At station bay 3, take the Southern Loop Line’s left-loop service, labeled 南部循環線・左回り, destination number 33. Get off at Ropeway-mae · ロープウェイ前, the stop after Shinmachi, then walk to the hall’s entrance. This street stop is not the ropeway boarding platform.
The scheduled bus ride is about two minutes and costs 250 yen for an adult, with no seat reservation. The timetable revised April 1, 2026 lists station departures from 09:10 to 18:10 on weekdays and weekends. Waiting and the final walk are additional, so walking may be quicker if no bus is imminent. This service is not a late-night connection.

The Bizan Ropeway starts on the hall’s fifth floor
Bizan Ropeway · 眉山ロープウエイ (facility name: あわぎん眉山ロープウエイ)
The lower boarding station is on the fifth floor of Awa Odori Kaikan. First reach the hall from Tokushima Station, then follow the indoor ropeway signs upstairs. Your walking destination is the hall—not the summit station.
The separate ropeway ride to Mount Bizan · 眉山 takes about six minutes. Standard operating hours are 09:00–21:00 from April through October and 09:00–17:30 from November through March, subject to closures and changes. For a late arrival, check the actual ropeway service before setting out. Official hall and ropeway information ↗ · Reviewed 2026-10-04
Use Washi-no-mon Gate for the park walk
Tokushima Central Park · 徳島中央公園
Washi-no-mon Gate · 鷲の門
The official guide gives about a ten-minute walk from the station to the park. The park extends northeast of the station across the railway, so selecting the whole park on a map can lead to a different entrance.
For this approach, use Washi-no-mon Gate on the southeast side as your destination. From the south-side station plaza, reach the sidewalk along the main road, National Routes 192/318, and walk east to the gate plaza. Pass through the gate into the park.
The airport-origin stop Central Park/Court North and the opposite-direction stop Central Park/Washi-no-mon are not the same named stop. If leaving the airport bus early, ask the driver which stop and walking direction you need. Otherwise, reaching the station first makes it easier to drop off luggage at your hotel.

Taxis and reserved vehicles: use your hotel’s actual address
- Leave the first-floor arrival lobby for the official taxi stand. The airport layout places it beside bus bay 1 and distinguishes meeting points for reserved or app-dispatched vehicles.
- Show your hotel’s Japanese name and address, and confirm payment. The airport gives an example of about 5,000 yen and 30 minutes to Tokushima Station, per vehicle—not a flat hotel fare. Vehicle type, address and traffic affect the total.
- For a reservation, verify the vehicle at the company’s meeting point. Give the operator your flight, date, party size, bag count and hotel address, and obtain its delayed-flight waiting, contact and cancellation terms.
The airport recommends reserving because waiting taxis are often limited. Its company list includes Naruto Daiichi Taxi, +81-88-685-5555, and Tokushima Daiichi Kotsu’s Naruto office, +81-88-685-7777. Uber Taxi is listed as an option, but requesting a car does not guarantee availability.
Tokushima Daiichi Kotsu lists a 20% surcharge from 22:00 to 05:00. Ask whether the quote includes that surcharge, tolls and dispatch charges. Do not apply one company’s quote as a universal airport-to-city flat rate. Airport taxi stand, companies and fare example ↗ · Daiichi Kotsu fares and surcharges ↗ · Reviewed 2026-10-04
Rental cars: the airport counter is not always the pickup office
The first-floor airport map marks the rental counter, レンタカーカウンター. At your booked operator’s counter, show your reservation and driving documents valid in Japan, then follow its transfer instructions. Complete paperwork and inspect the vehicle at the designated office; not every operator hands over a car outside the terminal.
For example, Sky Rent-a-Car uses the airport counter followed by an approximately four-minute shuttle to its airport branch. If no staff member is at the counter, call +81-88-699-3977. Its listed hours are 09:00–19:00, but it says it cannot handle flights arriving after 18:40. That arrival cutoff is not the same as the office’s closing time.
Other operators have their own pickup deadlines and delayed-arrival rules. Set navigation to your hotel’s parking entrance. The city lies southwest of the airport; use about 30 minutes as a driving reference, plus paperwork, the office shuttle and traffic. For a walking-focused city stay, compare parking and return requirements before renting.

Last station-bound bus and flight-delay exceptions
For October 1–24, 2026, the last airport-origin bus is 21:10 → Tokushima Station 21:38, linked to JAL465’s scheduled 21:00 arrival. This is not the station-to-airport timetable. Use a new timetable for travel from October 25.
Airport departures in this period are 08:20, 10:25, 11:05, 11:55, 14:10, 14:55, 16:30, 17:05, 18:45, 19:30, 19:45 and 21:10. The 16:30 Incheon connection runs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The other listed domestic connections have no separate weekday restriction, but flight cancellations may change or cancel their buses.
- Ordinary arrival connections: the operator says it checks that passengers have left the arrival exit and adjusts departure for flight delays. A bus may still be unavailable after a major delay.
- Eastar Jet’s Incheon connection: the October timetable specifically says the bus leaves on time even if the aircraft is delayed. If you reach the lobby after 16:30, ask about remaining buses or taxis. This exception applies to that flight, not all international arrivals.
- Full buses: when full, the bus leaves and passengers are directed to another bus or taxi. A linked arrival does not guarantee a seat.
If you miss the last bus, contact the official taxi stand or your reserved operator. Consider reserving for a late arrival because the airport warns of limited taxis. A 21:38 station arrival is already after the Southern Loop Line’s last 18:10 service toward the hall. Plan the remaining walk or taxi to your hotel and tell it your arrival time.
Station-bound airport buses do not offer reserved seats. If a purchased ticket goes unused, ask Tokushima Bus about its seller-specific change and refund rules. Rules for a separate highway-bus product should not be applied automatically.

Festival traffic can change the final leg to your hotel
The 2026 summer Awa Odori festival has ended. Traffic restrictions, changed stops and extra airport buses for the next festival have not been confirmed. For a future festival trip, check that year’s notices for the station stops and streets leading to your hotel; an old detour is not a current route.

Naruto is a different direction from Tokushima city
Naruto Station · 鳴門駅 / Naruto Park · 鳴門公園
For Naruto Station, check a Naruto Line service via the station at airport bay 2. The main-stop timetable revised October 1, 2026 lists airport-to-station travel. Use the weekday or weekend table for your date and exclude departures with an empty airport column. You do not need to detour through Tokushima Station.
UZS BUS also runs from bay 1 directly to Naruto Station for 800 yen, with a ride of about 15 minutes. This demonstration service began July 20, 2026. Departures marked “reservation” run only if booked by 23:59 three days beforehand; regular departures also have date and peak-period reservation conditions. Check those rules and the vehicle’s destination rather than applying the Tokushima bus’s payment or booking rules.
For Naruto Park, use an airport-serving Naruto Line bus displaying 鳴門公園. A bus only to Naruto Station, the education university or Uchinoumi is not automatically a park service. UZS BUS lists the station, resorts and museums, but not Naruto Park.
The station, park and sightseeing-boat piers are different destinations. This page’s map covers Tokushima city, not the final walk or local transfers to every whirlpool attraction. Use your booked facility’s official access guide for the correct stop or pier and return service.

Where does the bus stop at Tokushima Station?
It arrives in the plaza south of the JR station, with the official map showing the drop-off area west of the entrance. Follow the driver’s stopping instructions and collect your bags before reaching the pedestrian path. Airport-bound bay 15 is for the return trip, not this arrival.
How do I get to Awa Odori Kaikan?
Take the airport bus to Tokushima Station, then walk southwest via Shinmachi Bridge. The official guide gives about ten minutes. To walk less, take the Southern Loop Line’s left-loop service, destination number 33, from station bay 3 to Ropeway-mae; the scheduled ride is about two minutes and costs 250 yen, plus waiting and a short walk to the hall.
Where do I board the Bizan Ropeway?

Can I bring a large suitcase?
The airport limousine’s published luggage limit is 10 kg total weight, 0.3 cubic meters and 1 meter in length. Ask Tokushima Bus about your bags’ actual size and weight before traveling. Keep power banks with you, not in the luggage compartment.
What if my flight is delayed?
For October 1–24, 2026, the last airport-origin bus is 21:10 → Tokushima Station 21:38. Ordinary linked buses may adjust to arrivals but can be unavailable after major delays. Eastar Jet’s Incheon connection specifically leaves on time even if the flight is delayed. After buses have ended, use the official taxi stand or a reserved operator and notify your hotel.
Does transportation change during the Awa Odori festival?
Traffic restrictions and changed stops can affect the final route to a hotel. The 2026 summer festival has ended; restrictions and extra services for the next festival have not been confirmed. Check the notices for your travel year rather than following an old event detour.
Do I have to detour through Tokushima Station for Naruto?
No. Check the Naruto Line’s destination at airport bay 2, or UZS BUS at bay 1 for Naruto Station. Naruto Station and Naruto Park are different destinations, and UZS BUS does not list a Naruto Park stop. Check your whirlpool attraction’s official access guide for its own stop or pier.
