The approach from the stop to the main shrine

Pass Nakamise and Shirobashi, then walk Omotesando through Usa Torii to the main shrine area. After worship, return along the same route. Allow walking time between the bus stop and main shrine in your itinerary.

How to get to Usa Jingu Shrine · 宇佐神宮

Take a Yokkaichi-direction bus from Usa Station-mae to Usa Hachiman stop. Cross the Usa Jingu-iriguchi intersection on National Route 10 toward the shrine. Pass Nakamise, Shirobashi, the Omotesando approach and Usa Torii to reach the main shrine area. After worship, retrace the route to the stop and take a Bungo-Takada-direction bus via Usa Station-mae. Check weekday/weekend timetables for your date and onsite restrictions. JR and bus fares are excluded from the guide itinerary's subtotal.

The upper shrine is accessible 6 a.m.–6 p.m., with possible changes during the New Year period. Grounds being open at all times does not mean the upper shrine is accessible at any hour. Plan worship within the upper shrine's hours for your date.

The return bus to Usa Station

Outbound, take a Yokkaichi-direction bus from Usa Station-mae to Usa Hachiman. Return on a Bungo-Takada-direction bus via Usa Station-mae. Distinguish weekday and weekend timetables, and allow time to walk from the main shrine back to the stop. Follow onsite guidance if access is restricted.
