If you are going to hotels near Aomori Station or WA RASSE, take the bus to Aomori Station from bus stop 2 at the airport. It takes approximately 35 minutes and costs 980 yen one way for an adult. The Shinkansen departs from Shin-Aomori Station. The airport bus does not stop at Shin-Aomori Station, so you will need to transfer to a train at Aomori Station or take a taxi from the airport.

Aomori Station · 青森駅 serves the city centre and waterfront. Shin-Aomori Station · 新青森駅 is the Shinkansen station. They are separate places: check whether you need to reach your hotel or catch a Shinkansen before choosing transport.
The times below are approximate times after boarding the car or train. Immigration inspection, baggage pickup, waiting for the bus, picking up the hire car, and train transfer/waiting time are not included.

Take the bus to Aomori Station from the arrival lobby
- After completing immigration, baggage, and customs, exit to the arrival lobby on the first floor. Even if you arrive by domestic flight, the bus and taxi stand is outside the first floor entrance. Rather than randomly looking for exit numbers, check the official floor guide for bus stops.
- Prepare cash or a usable transport IC card. Using cash or transport IC cards is not a method of purchasing tickets at a separate ticket booth, but is a postpaid payment on board. From October 1, 2026, 5,000 yen and 10,000 yen bills cannot be changed in the car, so it is convenient to prepare change in advance.
- Go outside and go to platform number 2. JR Bus Tohoku, check the destination ‘青森駅 / Aomori Station’. The number 1 next to it is the Konan Bus bound for Hirosaki, which is different from the one bound for Aomori city.
- If paying cash, take a numbered boarding slip and keep it until you leave. Put the slip and exact fare into the fare box when getting off. With a supported transport IC card, tap the reader when boarding and again when getting off. The fare to Aomori Station is 980 yen for adults and 490 yen for elementary school students.
- Get off at Aomori Station stop number 11. After taking your suitcase, go to the plaza on the east side of the station. The route to the accommodation and the route to WA RASSE on the waterfront are separated below.
Seats are unreserved; you do not book a particular seat. Skis, snowboards, and folding bicycles require prior contact/reservation, and regular suitcases may also run out of space if they are crowded.

If you take the Shinkansen from Shin-Aomori Station
Take the bus bound for Aomori Station until the end and transfer to the JR Ou Main Line. At the station, check the train stopping at Shin-Aomori Station and its departure time and then buy a ticket. Please follow the instructions for each train for platform numbers. When you arrive at Shin-Aomori, follow the ‘新幹線のりかえ口’ sign to the Shinkansen transfer ticket gate.
Official airport information puts the train journey between the two stations at approximately 6 minutes. Combined with the 35 minutes for the bus, the on-board journey time is approximately 41 minutes, plus the time to get off the bus and enter the station and the time to wait for the next train. The short train ride does not mean the next service leaves immediately; allow for the wait before booking a Shinkansen connection.
If you want to reduce transfers, you can take an airport taxi directly to Shin-Aomori Station. The on-board journey time is about 30 minutes, and the current taxi association reference price is about 6,600 yen. Taxis can also be delayed on snowy roads, so leave a buffer before your Shinkansen departure.

From Aomori Station to hotels and attractions
Accommodation on the east side of Aomori Station and around Shinmachi
When you get off the bus, check the address of your accommodation based on the square on the east side of the station. Shinmachi 1-chome · 新町一丁目 side is the area that runs from the east side of the station to the city.
The walking distance is different between hotels in front of the station and hotels inside Shinmachi. Enter your hotel name as the destination to check the final route, and compare how to take a taxi from the airport to your accommodation if you have a large suitcase or don't feel comfortable with the snow.
The bus also stops at Shinmachi 1-chome, Kencho-dori, and Shinmachi 2-chome, but you must check the addresses to determine whether the stop is close to the hotel. Don’t get off at the ‘city centre’ stop without knowing the location first.

If you move from the square on the east side of the station towards the waterfront, you will find WA RASSE. Official information about the facility is about a 1-minute walk from Aomori Station. Travel time from bus stop 11 to the front of the station is separate, and may take longer due to snowy roads or waiting at traffic lights.
If you plan to see the show right after arrival, check whether you can leave your suitcase and check the admission time on the day.

A-FACTORY is also located on the waterfront east of the station, close to WA RASSE. Official information about the facility is about a 2-minute walk from Aomori Station. From the plaza east of the station, head towards the coast and find the entrance on the facility map.
The two places are connected by a short walking section, but rather than dragging large luggage and exploring right away, it is worth considering leaving it at your accommodation and then returning.
If you are going by hire car, decide on a car park first. A-FACTORY's own car park is closed from December to March due to snowfall on the Bay Bridge. In winter, please use the facility’s designated alternative parking information on the official page.

- Go out from the arrival lobby on the 1st floor and go to the official taxi stand. There is no procedure to buy bus tickets at the ticket office.
- Please show the driver your accommodation name/address or ‘新青森駅’. There should be a clear distinction between Aomori Station and Shin-Aomori Station.
- Before boarding, check the vehicle size, luggage capacity, estimated total amount, and whether cash or credit card payment is possible. You should not assume that the card works in all vehicles.
- For reserved vehicles, please go to the meeting location and driver contact information provided by the company. When making a reservation, the flight, arrival time, number of people, and number of suitcases are provided, and in case of delay, waiting, change, and cancellation conditions are also checked.

Please distinguish quoted reservations from metered rates. If you miss a reservation, you must contact the company first as the next ride or refund is not automatically provided.
For regular taxis, based on the association, there is a 20% surcharge for late night and early morning driving from 22:00 to 05:00 the next day, and a 20% winter surcharge from December 1 to the end of February. Check with the company for the final price, including surcharges, tolls, and reservation fees.

The airport's official list includes Toyota, Nissan, Nippon Rent-a-Car, Times, and Orix. Make sure it is the Aomori Airport branch of the company you reserved, and then go to the hire car terminal. The Times guides you through the domestic arrival lobby exit and about a 1-minute walk to the hire car terminal on the right side.
For other companies, please follow the pickup location and procedures on the reservation confirmation.
- After completing the arrival procedures, go to the company you reserved. Please prepare a reservation confirmation, valid driving qualification document in Japan, and payment method required by the company.
- Check the contract, insurance, vehicle condition, and winter equipment at the counter and then collect the vehicle. Payment instructions at the Times Airport Branch are by credit card.
- Enter the exact address of your accommodation and car park entrance into the navigation and set off. According to the airport's official standard, driving to Aomori Station and Shin-Aomori Station is approximately 30 minutes each, and contract and handover times are separate.
- In winter, check equipment conditions, including winter tyres, and road regulations. If you are staying at hotels in the city and only sightseeing on foot, it is a good idea to compare hire car parking and return costs as well.
Look at the business’s seasonal information before the general business hours in the airport listing. For example, the Times provides regular hours from 08:00 to 20:00 and December to March from 08:00 to 19:00 (excluding the New Year holidays). If your flight is late and you think you will miss the pick-up time, please contact the reservation office and check the change/cancellation conditions.

The last bus to Aomori Station is from the airport at 21:30 → Aomori Station at 22:05. JR bus timetables for September 1 - October 24, 2026 and October 25 - November 30, 2026 are all marked as daily operation. After December or when the timetable changes, do not use this time and check the travel date in the official timetable.
The operator informs you that bus departure may be delayed due to aircraft delay or baggage congestion, and that if the aircraft is delayed, you may not be able to connect to the bus. If your flight is late, it doesn't necessarily mean that the last bus will also wait.
After leaving the arrival hall, check the remaining bus departures, and if the service has ended, use the official taxi stand or reservation agency outside the first floor.
When going to Shin-Aomori Station, you must check not only the last airport bus, but also the train and Shinkansen you will transfer to at Aomori Station. If you think you will miss the Shinkansen you have booked, please contact JR or the sales office for change conditions before departure. Save the walking route from the station to your accommodation in advance. In snowy and icy areas, walking time with a suitcase may increase. Use the official pick-up point late at night, and if walking to and from the entrance to your accommodation is burdensome, consider taking a taxi to your accommodation.

If it is crowded, you may be guided to the next service due to lack of luggage space.
What should I do if my flight is late and I miss the last departure?
In the 2026 timetables from September 1 to October 24 and October 25 to November 30, the last departure to Aomori Station departs from the airport at 21:30 every day. If your flight is delayed, you may not be able to connect, so don't assume you'll be waiting. Once the trip is over, use the official taxi stand outside the first floor or contact the reservation company, and notify the accommodation of your late check-in.
Can I take the bus with a large suitcase?
There is space for luggage, but it may not be possible to carry it depending on the size, number, and congestion.
