Nagasaki Airport to Nagasaki Station, Shinchi and Dejima
If you are staying near Nagasaki Station, take the bus via Dejima Road from Bus Stop No. 5 and get off at the traffic plaza in front of Nagasaki Station. For areas around Shinchi Chinatown, you can use the same bus at the Shinchi Chinatown stop, and for areas around Hamanomachi, you can use the Chuo-bashi stop. Get off at a stop close to your accommodation address to reduce the trip back to the station.

How should I choose between Nagasaki Airport limousine bus and train?
If you only travel to the city once, a direct airport bus will save you the burden of transfers. You can also compare rail connections if you have already redeemed your JR Pass or are continuing on to another rail itinerary at Shin-Omura Station. There is no rail station at the airport.

You need to go through immigration → baggage pickup → purchase tickets → stand in line → transfer → walk to your accommodation. You should not think of it as ‘27 minutes from the airport to the city centre’ by adding the 13 and 14 minutes via rail.
Buses may be delayed depending on congestion and transit routes.

When you leave the arrival hall, look for the number outside the first floor.
- After completing immigration and baggage pickup, exit to the arrivals hall on the 1st floor. It's a good idea to keep your accommodation address and the name of the stop you'll get off on on your phone for guidance.
- Check the destination and number at the airport bus stop outside the first floor. Number ⑤ is ‘新地中華街・長崎新地 / 出島道路経由’, number ④ is ‘長崎駅前 / 浦上経由’.
- When going to Shin-Omura Station, use number ② toward Huis Ten Bosch/Sasebo. Check that the service stops at Shin-Omura Station (新大村駅) before boarding. It must be distinguished from number ③ for Omura/Isahaya.
- Tell the driver your drop-off stop when your luggage is loaded into the luggage compartment. When you get off, collect your luggage and continue the final section to your accommodation or attraction.
In the official bus stop information, there is also number ① exclusively for international departures. Don’t mistake number ① for the bus stop for city centre. Regular taxi number is ⑥.

On prefectural buses, you board in line order without seat reservations, and pay when you get off. You can use nationwide interchangeable transport IC cards such as nimoca, Suica, PASMO, and ICOCA. They accept cash, but they inform you that 10,000, 5,000, and 2,000 yen bills and new 500 yen coins cannot be exchanged in the car, so prepare change or a charged card.
Nagasaki Bus Airport Liner also provides information on purchasing tickets first at the airport automatic ticket machine. For payment procedures for shared vehicles, please follow the instructions for the bus you will board. Even if you use a mobile transport IC card, it is helpful to have cash in case your battery runs out.
Prefectural buses inform you that luggage exceeding 30kg or 2m in length cannot be placed inside or in the trunk. Keep valuables and fragile items directly in the car, and if you need help loading or unloading the trunk, tell the driver first. Advance inquiry is required as the vehicle does not have wheelchair entry and exit equipment.

Accommodation around Nagasaki Station
Arrival hall → No. ⑤ on the 1st floor → Transportation plaza in front of Nagasaki Station → JR Station entrance and accommodation in this order. Even if the name says ‘Nagasaki Station Front · 長崎駅前’, the bus does not get off right in front of the JR ticket gate.
Get off at number ⑤ at Transportation Square · 交通広場, and get off at number ④ at Bus Terminal · バスターミナル. Each location was compared with the airport departure direction stop map provided by the prefectural bus.
The transportation plaza is to the east of JR station, and the bus terminal is to the east of it, on the main road. From the location where you got off, follow the directions for Kamome Exit (east exit) · かもめ口(東口) and walk to the station building.
The plaza and turnstile are not in the same location. According to Nagasaki City's August/September 2026 guidance, construction on the East Station Plaza continues, so check the on-site pedestrian signs and JR yard map.
The final road is different for the hotel across from the station and the hotel west of the station. You can check the actual walking paths and crosswalks by changing the destination with your accommodation name on the walking map below. The official fixed walking time to the station entrance has not been confirmed, so it is not provided as a uniform ‘1 minute walk’.
Please allow extra time depending on the signal, luggage, and location of your accommodation.

When returning home, you should not assume that your pick-up point for the airport is the same as your drop-off point for the city. You can take the prefectural bus bound for the airport from inside the bus terminal in front of Nagasaki Station.
Shinchi Chinatown · 新地中華街
Arrival hall → No. ⑤ on the 1st floor → Get off at Shinchi Chinatown → Walk to Chinatown and accommodation. If you go from Nagasaki Airport to Shinchi Chinatown, you don't have to go to the station. The drive from the airport to this stop takes about 35 minutes and costs 1,400 yen.
‘Shinchi Chinatown’ is indicated by the name of the bus stop, and the name of the tourist attraction is classified as Shinchi Chinatown. Follow the walking route from the North Gate to your accommodation on the official stop map. If your accommodation is in the Hamano-machi area, it is better to compare it to the next stop at Chuo-bashi.

Arrival hall → 1st floor ⑤ → Chuo-bashi · 中央橋 → Arcade · Walk to the accommodation first. The ride from the airport to Chuo-bashi takes about 38 minutes and costs 1,400 yen.
Hamano-machi is not a single point, but rather a shopping district and surrounding lodging areas, so for lodgings on the Shianbashi side, you need to include the address and compare the last section.
Chuo-bashi has different locations for the ‘Koyaya Mae’ stop for the airport and the drop-off stop for the airport. The link below is the bus stop from the airport to the city. If you find it difficult to walk with your luggage or your accommodation is far away, you can get off and take a taxi.
Chuo-bashi bus stop for city centre ↗Dejima · 出島: After getting off the bus, go to the entrance
Arrival hall → 1st floor ⑤ → Shinchi Chinatown or Chuo-bashi → Walk to Dejima Omotemon Bridge · 出島表門橋. The route name ‘via Dejima Road’ does not mean that the airport bus stops directly at the entrance to the Dejima tourist facility.
Set Dejima Omotemon Bridge (出島表門橋) as your walking destination to reach the main entrance. The official facility information is divided into Dejima Omotemon Bridge 08:00~21:00 (last entry 20:40) and West Water Gate 08:00~18:00.
In the evening, check the entrance to avoid heading towards the closed West Gate. Dejima's walking guide around Shinchi and Hamanomachi is about 5 to 10 minutes, but it is not the same fixed time from the airport bus drop-off point.
If you are going to Dejima after leaving your luggage near the station, use the Line 1 tram information below. At night, when the last airport bus arrives, viewing hours are already over, so it is best to go to your accommodation first.

The current walking route on the map service may change due to construction or control, so please follow the on-site signs.
Trams from Nagasaki Station to Shinchi, Hamanomachi and Dejima
Exit JR Station and walk to Nagasaki-ekimae tram stop · 長崎駅前. If you take Line 1 bound for Sofukuji · 崇福寺, it will take you to the stop below without transferring. Check the destination of the vehicle to make sure you don't get on the other side, bound for Akasako.
- Dejima: Get off at ‘出島’ → Walk to the open entrance. Official information about the facility is about a 1-minute walk from the Dejima tram stop, and check the section leading to Dejima Omotemon Bridge with the entrance map.
- Shinchi Chinatown: Get off at ‘Shinchi Chinatown’ → Walk to Chinatown. Tourist organizations will inform you about 1 minute after getting off the tram.
- Hamanomachi Arcade: Get off at ‘Kanko-dori · 観光通’ → Walk to the arcade and accommodation. When using Line 1, do not wait for the other line stop named ‘Hamanomachi Arcade’.
The one-time fare for adults is 150 yen, and you can use cash, transport IC cards, and supported credit cards for contactless payment. The three destinations above can be accessed with a single ride on Line 1, so there is no need to transfer.
When transferring to another route, there are official conditions such as designated transfer stops, supported payment methods, and within 30 minutes, so you should not think that all transfers are free.
Check the timetable by stop and direction for the last departure. Once connected, you can compare the actual walking route to your accommodation or a city taxi. If your accommodation requires you to walk a long distance with large luggage, you can consider a taxi first.

Railway via Shin-Omura Station: Bus and Shinkansen tickets are separate
Shin-Omura Station · 新大村駅 and Omura Station · 大村駅 are different stations. The West Kyushu Shinkansen stops at Shin-Omura Station, but Omura Station is a conventional line station. The rail transit information below uses Shin-Omura Station.
- Arrival hall → Take the bus bound for Huis Ten Bosch/Sasebo from number ② on the 1st floor and get off in front of Shin-Omura Station. The current airport departure time is approximately 13 minutes and 310 yen.
- Pick up your luggage from the bus, go into the station, and check the Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen · 西九州新幹線 ‘Kamome · かもめ’ bound for Nagasaki. Prepare a paper ticket, limited express ticket, or reservation for the relevant train. You cannot ride the Shinkansen by simply touching a regular transport IC card.
- Get off at Nagasaki Station → Exit → Accommodation. If you are staying in Shinchi or Dejima, you will need to take an additional train, taxi, or walk outside the station.
An example of the Kamome 1 from the JR official timetable on October 4, 2026 is Shin-Omura 07:19 → Nagasaki 07:33, about 14 minutes by train. This is an example of a train section and does not mean a combination that connects with an airport bus on the same day.
Examples of daytime times that match the actual timetable are Airport Bus 11:50 → Shin-Omura Station 12:03, Kamome No. 21 Shin-Omura 12:14 → Nagasaki 12:29. Since the two transportation services are operated separately, transfers at 11-minute intervals are not guaranteed.
If the bus is late or you need time to issue tickets or move luggage, choose the next train.
Non-reserved seat adult one-way fare is JR 1,740 yen (870 yen fare + 870 yen non-reserved express fare). If you add 310 yen for the airport bus, it will be 2,050 yen, and if you add 150 yen to the city tram, it will be 2,200 yen.
The general reserved seat limited express fare is 1,790 yen in the regular season, the total for JR sections is 2,660 yen, and if you include the bus, it is 2,970 yen. Reserved seats vary depending on the usage date conditions, such as peak season, so check the final total amount on JR Reservation Inquiry. It does not say that the 2,050 yen price includes reserved seating.
You can also travel to Omura Station by bus or taxi, but it is a separate route using a conventional line. To avoid going to Omura Station without a Shin-Omura Station ticket, show the station name before boarding.

If the bus is over or you miss the streetcar
- After the airport bus ends: Go to the official taxi stand number ⑥ on the 1st floor or contact the official company below for dispatch. We cannot guarantee that vehicles will always be available later in the day.
- Arrive in the city by bus and exit the tram: Choose the stop that suits your accommodation. Check whether the actual walking path to the address is suitable, and if you have a lot of luggage or feel uncomfortable walking, take a city taxi for the last section.
- When it is difficult to move around the city: First check rooms, late check-in, and transportation from the airport at hotels in the Omura area near the airport before making a reservation. The airport building is marked as opening at 06:15 and closing at 22:00, so it is not intended as an overnight waiting area.
If you miss your reserved transportation
Airport limousine buses without reservations and JR tickets with designated dates and seats are processed differently. For JR regular reserved seat tickets, you must apply for a change before the train departs. Before use and within the validity period, regular tickets can be changed to the same type once without a fee, but the difference will be settled and discount products are subject to separate conditions.
Reserved seat tickets are not refundable after the departure of the designated train. There is a provision that allows you to use a regular car non-reserved seat on the same day as the train you missed with a regular reserved seat limited express ticket, but it does not automatically secure a reserved seat on the next train.
If you use a different reserved seat, you will have to pay a new reserved seat express fee. When cancelling, a fee of 340 yen is applied for regular reserved seat tickets up to 2 days before departure, and a fee of 30% (minimum 340 yen) is applied from the day before to before departure. Ticket refunds are separate.
Show the reservation screen and ticket at the JR counter, and for online discount tickets or affiliate purchases, contact the sales office on the order screen.
If you have a reserved vehicle, please inform the reservation company of your flight number, reservation number, and new estimated arrival time as soon as you become aware of the delay. Free waiting limits, extension fees, and no-show/cancellation policies vary by contract. Please save the cancellation time and contact method set by the reservation company in the order form.

Time and distance calculations are also applied, and vary depending on the actual fare reported by the company and the vehicle model.
Heiwa Taxi's current fare list is 100 yen for every 1 minute and 35 seconds for low-speed operation and waiting, and a 20% surcharge from 22:00 to 05:00. For other dispatch companies, check again with their rates.
Expressway and toll fees are separate. Meter rates and tolls are combined, so you must select your destination and receive a quote from the company. Huis Ten Bosch and Sasebo are different from those bound for Nagasaki city.
If you go directly to Huis Ten Bosch · ハウステンボス or Sasebo · 佐世保, compare number ② on the 1st floor first. There is a separate bus route that passes through Shin-Omura Station, so there is no need to go to Nagasaki Station and then back.
Based on the airport departure timetable from October 1 to 24, 2026, it takes approximately 59 minutes to Huis Ten Bosch and approximately 89 minutes to Sasebo Bus Centre, and each one-way fare is 1,500 yen for adults. Check the latest operator announcements, travel timetables, and routes from drop-off to your hotel. The bus arrival time is different from the theme park entry time.
Jumbo taxi number ⑦ for the Minatoguchi direction of Sasebo Station requires advance reservation at least 30 minutes before departure according to the official airport information. Since this is a Sasebo ride, please separate it from the vehicle going to your accommodation in Nagasaki city.
