Nagasaki Airport to Nagasaki Station, Shinchi Chinatown and Dejima
For Nagasaki Station hotels, take the bus via Dejima Road from airport stop 5 and get off at Nagasaki-ekimae’s transport square. The same route serves Shinchi Chinatown and Chuo-bashi, useful for Shinchi and Hamanomachi hotels respectively. Choose your stop by the hotel address rather than travelling to the station and back.

How should I choose between Nagasaki Airport limousine bus and train?
If you only travel to the city once, a direct airport bus will save you the burden of transfers. You can also compare rail connections if you have already redeemed your JR Pass or are continuing on to another rail itinerary at Shin-Omura Station. There is no rail station at the airport.

Find your bus stop outside the first-floor arrivals hall
- After completing immigration and baggage pickup, exit to the arrival hall on the 1st floor. It is a good idea to keep the address of your accommodation and the name of the stop you will get off on on your phone to receive guidance.
- Check the destination and number at the airport bus stop outside the first floor. Stop 5 is the Shinchi Chinatown/Dejima Road service; stop 4 is via Showa-machi and Urakami · 昭和町・浦上経由.
- When going to Shin-Omura Station, use number ② toward Huis Ten Bosch/Sasebo. Confirm that the departure calls at ‘新大村駅前’, Shin-Omura Station. It must be distinguished from number ③ for Omura/Isahaya.
- Tell the driver your stop before loading hold luggage. When you get off, collect your luggage and continue the final section to your accommodation or attraction.
In the official bus stop information, there is also number ① exclusively for international departures. Don’t mistake number ① for the bus stop for downtown. Regular taxi number is ⑥.

On Nagasaki Prefectural Bus, queue without a seat reservation and pay when alighting. You can use nationwide interchangeable transport IC cards such as nimoca, Suica, PASMO, and ICOCA. They accept cash, but they inform you that 10,000, 5,000, and 2,000 yen bills and new 500 yen coins cannot be exchanged in the car, so prepare change or a charged card.
Nagasaki Bus Airport Liner also provides information on purchasing tickets first at the airport automatic ticket machine. For payment procedures for shared vehicles, please follow the instructions for the bus you will board. Even if you use a mobile transport IC card, it is helpful to have cash in case your battery runs out.
Prefectural buses inform you that luggage exceeding 30kg or 2m in length cannot be placed inside or in the trunk. Keep valuables and fragile items directly in the car, and if you need help loading or unloading the trunk, tell the driver first. Advance inquiry is required as the vehicle does not have wheelchair entry and exit equipment.

Hotels around Nagasaki Station · 長崎駅
Arrival hall → 1st floor ⑤ → Transportation plaza in front of Nagasaki Station → JR Station entrance/accommodation This is the order. Even if the name says ‘Nagasaki Station Front · 長崎駅前’, the bus does not get off right in front of the JR ticket gate.
Get off at number ⑤ Transport Square · 交通広場, get off at number ④ Bus Terminal · バスターミナル. Each location was compared with the airport departure direction stop map provided by the prefectural bus.
The transport square is east of JR; the bus terminal lies farther east by the main road. After alighting, follow pedestrian signs towards Kamome Exit (East Exit) · かもめ口(東口) and the station building.
The bus plaza is separate from the station gates. Nagasaki City's August/September 2026 guidance notes continuing construction at the East Station Plaza. Follow the temporary pedestrian signs and the JR station plan.
Hotels opposite the station and hotels on its west side need different walking routes. Enter your exact hotel name and address in the walking map below, then check the crossings and entrance. The official sources do not give one fixed walk to the station entrance, so allow time for the route you will actually use.
Please allow extra time depending on the signal, luggage, and location of your accommodation.

‘Shinchi Chinatown’ is indicated by the name of the bus stop, and the name of the tourist attraction is classified as Shinchi Chinatown. Follow the walking route from the North Gate to your accommodation on the official stop map. If your accommodation is in the Hamano-machi area, it is better to compare it to the next stop at Chuo-bashi.

Compare arrivals → 1F stop 5 → Chuo-bashi · 中央橋 → final walk to the arcade/hotel. The ride from the airport to Chuo-bashi takes about 38 minutes and costs 1,400 yen.
Hamano-machi is not a single point, but rather a shopping district and surrounding lodging areas, so for hotels on the Shianbashi side, you need to include the address and compare the last section.
Chuo-bashi’s airport-bound ‘Kojiyamachi-mae’ side differs from the city-bound arrival stop. The link below is the airport→city drop-off. If you find it difficult to walk with your luggage or your accommodation is far away, you can get off and take a taxi.
Chuo-bashi bus stop for downtown ↗Dejima · 出島: After getting off the bus, go to the entrance
Follow arrivals → stop 5 → Shinchi Chinatown or Chuo-bashi → walk to Dejima Omotemon Bridge. The route name ‘via Dejima Road’ does not mean that the airport bus stops directly at the entrance to the Dejima tourist facility.
Set Dejima Omotemon Bridge · 出島表門橋 as the entrance destination. The official facility information is divided into Omotemon Bridge 08:00~21:00 (last entry 20:40) and West Water Gate 08:00~18:00.
In the evening, check the entrance to avoid heading towards the closed West Gate. Dejima's walking guide around Shinchi and Hamanomachi is about 5 to 10 minutes, but it is not the same fixed time from the airport bus drop-off point.
If you are going to Dejima after leaving your luggage near the station, use the Line 1 tram information below. At night, when the last airport bus arrives, viewing hours are already over, so it is best to go to your accommodation first.

Leave JR and walk to Nagasaki-ekimae tram stop · 長崎駅前. Take Line 1 towards Sofukuji · 崇福寺 for these destinations without changing. Check the destination of the vehicle to make sure you don't get on the other side, bound for Akasako.
- Dejima: Get off at ‘出島’ → Walk to the open entrance. Official information about the facility is about a 1-minute walk from the Dejima tram stop, and check the section leading to Omotemon Bridge with the entrance map.
- Shinchi Chinatown: Get off at ‘Shinchi Chinatown · 新地中華街’ → Walk to Chinatown. Tourist organizations will inform you about 1 minute after getting off the tram.
- Hamanomachi Arcade: Get off at ‘Kanko-dori · 観光通’ → Walk to the arcade and accommodation. When using Line 1, do not wait for the other line stop named ‘Hamanomachi Arcade’.
The adult single fare is 150 yen You can use cash, transport IC card, and supported credit card touch payment. The three destinations above can be accessed with a single ride on Line 1, so there is no need to transfer.
When transferring to another route, there are official conditions such as designated transfer stops, supported payment methods, and within 30 minutes, so you should not think that all transfers are free.
Check the timetable for each stop and direction for the last train. Once connected, you can compare the actual walking route to your accommodation or a city taxi. If your accommodation requires you to walk a long distance with large luggage, you can consider a taxi first.

Rail via Shin-Omura Station: Bus and Shinkansen tickets are separate
Shin-Omura Station · 新大村駅 and Omura Station · 大村駅 are separate stations. The Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen stops at Shin-Omura Station, but Omura Station is a conventional line station. The rail transit information below uses Shin-Omura Station.
- Arrivals → 1F stop 2 → Huis Ten Bosch/Sasebo-bound bus calling at Shin-Omura Station → alight there. The current airport departure time is approximately 13 minutes and 310 yen.
- Pick up your luggage from the bus and enter the station. Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen · 西九州新幹線 Check the route to Nagasaki for ‘Kamome · かもめ’. Prepare a paper ticket, limited express ticket, or reservation for the relevant train. You cannot ride the Shinkansen by simply touching a regular transport IC card.
- Get off at Nagasaki Station → Exit → Accommodation. If you are staying in Shinchi or Dejima, you will need to take an additional train, taxi, or walk outside the station.
In the 4 October 2026 JR timetable, Kamome 1 runs Shin-Omura 07:19→Nagasaki 07:33, about 14 minutes. This is a rail-leg example, not a verified connection from an airport bus that morning.
Examples of daytime times that match the actual timetable are Airport Bus 11:50 → Shin-Omura Station 12:03, Kamome No. 21 Shin-Omura 12:14 → Nagasaki 12:29. Since the two transportation services are operated separately, transfers at 11-minute intervals are not guaranteed.
If the bus is late or you need time to issue tickets or move luggage, choose the next train.
Non-reserved seat adult one-way ticket JR 1,740 yen (fare 870 yen + non-reserved seat express fare 870 yen). If you add 310 yen for the airport bus, it will be 2,050 yen, and if you add 150 yen to the city tram, it will be 2,200 yen.
The regular reserved seat limited express fare is 1,790 yen in the regular season, the total for JR sections is 2,660 yen, and if you add the bus, it is 2,970 yen. Reserved seats vary depending on the usage date conditions, such as peak season, so check the final total amount on JR Reservation Inquiry. It does not say that the 2,050 yen price includes reserved seating.
You can also travel to Omura Station by bus or taxi, but it is a separate route using a conventional line. To avoid going to Omura Station without a Shin-Omura Station ticket, show the station name before boarding.

If the last bus or tram has left
- After the airport bus ends: Go to the official taxi stand on the 1st floor, number ⑥, or inquire about dispatch to the official company below. We cannot guarantee that vehicles will always be available later in the day.
- After arriving in the city by bus, the tram ends: Choose the stop that suits your accommodation. Check whether the actual walking path to the address is suitable, and if you have a lot of luggage or feel uncomfortable walking, take a city taxi for the last section.
- When moving around the city is difficult: Make a reservation at an accommodation in the Omura area near the airport after first checking the room, late check-in, and transportation from the airport. The airport building is marked as opening at 06:15 and closing at 22:00, so it is not intended as an overnight waiting area.
If you miss your reserved transportation
Airport limousine buses without reservations and JR tickets with designated dates and seats are handled differently. For JR regular reserved seat tickets, you must apply for a change before the train departs. Before use and within the validity period, regular tickets can be changed to the same type once without a fee, but the difference will be settled and discount products are subject to separate conditions.
Reserved seat tickets are not refundable after the departure of the designated train. There is a provision that allows you to use a regular car non-reserved seat on the same day as the train you missed with a regular reserved seat limited express ticket, but it does not automatically secure a reserved seat on the next train.
If you use a different reserved seat, you will have to pay a new reserved seat express fee. When canceling, a fee of 340 yen is applied for regular reserved seat tickets up to 2 days before departure, and a fee of 30% (minimum 340 yen) is applied from the day before to before departure. Ticket refunds are separate.
Show the reservation screen and ticket at the JR counter, and for online discount tickets or affiliate purchases, contact the sales office on the order screen.
For a booked vehicle, promptly send the operator your flight number, booking reference and revised arrival time. Free waiting limits, extension fees, and no-show/cancellation policies vary by contract. Please save the cancellation time and contact method set by the reservation company in the order form.

Official taxi: Check the accommodation address and toll and late-night rates first.
Follow arrivals → 1F taxi rank 6 → hotel entrance. The airport provides a reference time of approximately 40 minutes by car using the highway to Nagasaki Station. It depends on traffic conditions and exact accommodation location.
In the Kyushu Transport Bureau's revised fare on August 3, 2026, the upper limit for regular vehicles is 770 yen for the first 1km, 100 yen for every 263m thereafter.. Time and distance calculations are also applied, and vary depending on the actual fare reported by the company and the vehicle type.
Heiwa Taxi’s current fare list is 100 yen per 1 minute and 35 seconds for low-speed operation and waiting; a 20% night surcharge from 22:00–05:00. For other dispatch companies, please check again with their rates.
Expressway and toll fees are separate. Meter rates and tolls are combined, so you must select your destination and receive a quote from the company. When making a reservation, please inquire about departure from the airport → accommodation address, number of people/suitcases, vehicle type, card availability, dispatch/reservation/waiting costs, contact in case of flight delay, and cancellation conditions.

When travelling alone late, use the official bus stop and information desk, and save your accommodation address and walking map in advance. It is a good idea to remember the number and markings of your luggage before loading it into the trunk and check it again when unloading. Please also inform your accommodation of your late check-in time.
Huis Ten Bosch and Sasebo are different from those bound for Nagasaki city.
For Huis Ten Bosch · ハウステンボス or Sasebo · 佐世保, compare the separate service from 1F stop 2. There is a separate bus route that passes through Shin-Omura Station, so there is no need to go to Nagasaki Station and then back.
Based on the airport departure timetable from October 1 to 24, 2026, it takes about 59 minutes to Huis Ten Bosch or 89 minutes to Sasebo Bus Centre, and each one-way fare is 1,500 yen for adults. Check the latest operator announcements, travel timetables, and routes from drop-off to your hotel. The bus arrival time is different from the theme park entry time.
For Jumbo Taxi number ⑦ in the Minatoguchi direction of Sasebo Station, please refer to the official airport information. Advance reservation 30 minutes before departure is requested. Since this is a Sasebo ride, please separate it from the vehicle going to your accommodation in Nagasaki city.

Airport bus tickets and rail passes are separate
For city-bound airport buses from stops 4 and 5, follow the airport ticket-machine and operator payment instructions. A JR Northern Kyushu Rail Pass is a separate purchase for a wider rail itinerary, not a default ticket for one journey into Nagasaki.
Official tickets and boarding — Airport Liner ↗Considering a Northern Kyushu Rail Pass?
The pass covers the Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen section including Shin-Omura → Nagasaki, but not the airport buses costing JPY 310 or JPY 1,400, or the city tram. Compare the total cost of your planned rail journeys first.
Eligibility requires a foreign passport and the specified Temporary Visitor entry status. Bring your original passport and any required exchange documents. Nagasaki Station is an official exchange location; do not assume the airport or Shin-Omura can exchange an unredeemed voucher. An unexchanged voucher alone is not permission to board at Shin-Omura.
Check the selected pass duration, exchange deadline, reserved-seat allowance and any separate online reservation charge. Kamome seat reservations and oversized luggage have specific procedures. Flight delays do not automatically extend a pass period or refund a used pass.
Please also read the notice of temporary change in travel dates.
Prefectural buses announced the suspension and detour of some city stops due to the Nagasaki Kunchi event from 12:20 to 15:00 on October 7, 2026, and from 12:20 to 14:00 on the 9th. The airport-limousine notice concerns the city→airport direction via Chuo-bashi (Kojiyamachi-mae).
This should not be read as a closure of all stops from the airport to the city. Times may vary depending on the event, so check the latest announcements, including your return flight.

Which bus and stop should I choose for a Nagasaki Station hotel?
Take the bus via Dejima Road from number ⑤ on the first floor of the airport and get off at the traffic plaza in front of Nagasaki Station. The ride takes approximately 43 minutes and costs 1,400 yen one way for adults. After getting off, you must walk along the Kamomeguchi (East Exit) side walkway to the JR station entrance and accommodation. Bus number ④ via Showa-machi and Urakami takes approximately 55-56 minutes and stops at the bus terminal in front of Nagasaki Station, so please distinguish between the two drop-off locations.
Which stop is closest to Shinchi Chinatown/Hamanomachi accommodation?
First, take bus number ⑤ via Dejima Road and get off at Shinchi Chinatown for areas around Shinchi Chinatown, and Chuo-bashi for areas around Hamanomachi Arcade. It takes approximately 35 and 38 minutes from the airport, respectively, and costs 1,400 yen one way for adults. The section you walk after getting off varies depending on your accommodation address. Bus number ④ does not pass these two stops.
Can I get from the airport to central Nagasaki by train?
There is no rail station at the airport. ② Take the bus bound for Huis Ten Bosch/Sasebo for about 13 minutes (310 yen) to Shin-Omura Station. From the station, you can take the Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen Kamome to Nagasaki Station. The JR fare with a non-reserved limited-express ticket totals JPY 1,740; including the JPY 310 airport bus, the total is JPY 2,050. Waiting for the train, ticketing, and moving around the station are separate, and reserved seat fees are different. Omura Station is a different station from Shin-Omura Station.
How do I get to Dejima after getting off the bus?
Take bus number ⑤ and get off at Shinchi Chinatown or Chuo-bashi, and then find the walking route with Dejima Omotemon Bridge as your destination. The bus does not stop directly at the entrance to the Dejima tourist facility. If you are departing from Nagasaki Station, take Line 1 bound for Sofukuji at the tram stop in front of Nagasaki Station and get off at Dejima. The tram costs 150 yen for adults. Please check the entrance and exit hours separately.
If my flight is delayed, will the airport bus wait?
Nagasaki Bus informs in its official FAQ that the last Airport Liner departing from the airport will wait for the arriving aircraft. However, waiting limits and coverage of individual flights were not specified. This should not be interpreted as a guarantee of standby for prefectural bus number ④ or all departing flights. At the arrivals hall, ask the operator and boarding staff about the last departure of the day.
What transportation can I use if I arrive late at night?
The last bus of the timetable from the airport to the city from October 1 to 24, 2026 is at 21:45 for both ④ and ⑤. Once the bus has finished, use the official taxi stand at number ⑥ on the 1st floor and the dispatch company provided by the airport, or secure a room, check-in, and transportation at an accommodation near the airport. Even if there is no tram connection in the city, you will still need to choose a separate taxi or actual walking route to your accommodation. The airport building is marked as closing at 22:00, so it should not be assumed to be an overnight waiting area.
Do I have to go through central Nagasaki when going to Huis Ten Bosch?
No. First, compare buses bound for Huis Ten Bosch and Sasebo from Airport No. ② via Shin-Omura Station. The timetable from October 1 to 24, 2026 takes approximately 59 minutes to Huis Ten Bosch, and costs 1,500 yen one way for adults. This is a separate route from routes ④ and ⑤ bound for Nagasaki city. You must check the operation notice, timetable for the day of your visit, and transportation to the hotel after arrival.
