If you are staying near Okayama Station, take the airport bus to the west exit of the station. For Kurashiki accommodation, check whether the departure time of the direct bus matches your arrival schedule. If not, you can transfer to JR at Okayama Station. Korakuen and Okayama Castle can be reached by bus or tram from the east of Okayama Station, and the Bikan Historical Quarter can be reached on foot from the south of Kurashiki Station.

From the arrival hall on the 1st floor to the bus stop

After completing immigration inspection and baggage pickup, go to the arrival hall on the 1st floor. The bus stop for both domestic and international flights is located outside the first floor of the terminal.
If you have a transport IC card, check the route you use and the balance. You can use nationwide interchangeable transport IC cards such as Suica, ICOCA, and Hareca. If you do not have a transport IC card, select your destination and buy a ticket at the vending machine at the airport bus stop.
For Okayama Station, take number 2 ‘岡山駅方面’, and for Kurashiki Station, take number 3 ‘倉敷駅方面’. Even for the same airport bus, you have to stand in a separate line.
Check the destination and bus departure, load your luggage, and then board. To use the Okaden transport IC card, touch the card reader when getting on and off. Please also follow the instructions of the on-site staff.

In addition to cash, Okaden's vending machines accept contactless payments with credit cards such as Visa, Mastercard, and JCB, as well as some electronic and QR payments. This is a payment method that can be used at vending machines, and cards and QR payments other than transport IC cards cannot be used on the bus.

Chutetsu provides information on paying for tickets, cash, and transport IC cards. Check on-site markings for response measures for each device.

General passengers board both routes without reservation. Boarding is not guaranteed when seats are full, so check the line and vehicle information even if you have purchased a ticket. Okaden's wheelchair-accessible seats require separate phone reservations.

If you go to Kurashiki via Okayama Station, bus 1,000 yen + JR 330 yen = 1,330 yen, on-board journey time is about 46 to 48 minutes in total. As an example, approximately 60 to 90 minutes from the airport boarding point to Kurashiki Station, including transfers and waiting for the train, is an example, but it may take longer depending on the actual connecting flight. How to get to hotels around Okayama Station

1st floor arrival hall → Purchase a ticket to Okayama Station or prepare a transport IC card at the ticket vending machine → Go to airport platform number 2.
Take a bus bound for ‘岡山駅西口’ and travel for approximately 30 minutes. The ‘特急’ bus stops at an intermediate stop, but you can continue to Okayama Station.
Get off at platform 21 at the West Exit of Okayama Station. Airport bus platform number 21 is different from Shinkansen platform number 21.
For hotels on the west side, find the walking route using the accommodation name and address. If you are staying on the east side, go through the east-west free passageway (東西連絡通路) on the second floor of the station and take the east exit (東口/後楽園口). There is no need to enter the turnstile or buy a train ticket. If your suitcase is large, check the elevator location on the floor plan.

If you just search for ‘Okayama City’, the direction after getting off is ambiguous. Start by checking which exit your accommodation is on, and if you arrive late at night, check the check-in time and the walking distance from the station to your accommodation.

From Okayama Station to Korakuen and Okayama Castle

The point where you get off the airport bus is on the west side of the station, and the direction toward the tourist attraction is on the east side. Pass through the free passageway above and take the east exit, then choose the path below. Don't think of it as a bus that goes directly from the airport to the two attractions.

Korakuen Main Gate: East Exit Bus No. 1

Check for buses bound for Okaden ‘藤原団地’ (Fujiwara Complex) at East Exit Bus Terminal No. 1. Check the stop and operator information for tickets/payment and same-day fares.
Get off at ‘後楽園前’ (Korakuenmae) approximately 10 to 15 minutes after boarding. Official facility information will direct you to the main entrance, which can be accessed immediately after disembarking.
Follow the signs at the main gate to the ticket office. You can also take Uno Bus’ direct bus to Korakuen from East No. 1 and get off at ‘岡山後楽園’. Distinguish between the stop names and timetables of the two operators.

To walk, go from the east exit to Momotaro Dori → Tsurumibashi → Korakuen main gate. The official English guide to the facility is about a 25-minute walk from the station. Please allow separate waiting time for luggage and traffic signals.

Okayama Castle: Streetcar → Walk from Shiroshita

From the east exit, go to the ‘岡山駅前’ (Okayama Eki-mae) tram stop. Choose the route to ‘Tosan’ (Higashiyama).
Ride for about 4 to 5 minutes and get off at ‘Shiroshita’ · 城下. The fare is 160 yen for adults, and pay cash into the fare box when getting off, or tap a supported transport IC card when boarding and again when getting off. The fare box does not give change, so prepare coins or use the currency exchange machine in the car.
Follow the signs for Okayama Castle and walk toward the castle for about 10 minutes. Enter the castle area from the access point on the Rokamon side and follow the instructions at the castle tower and ticket office. Map pins are access points rather than castle centers.

It is about a 10-minute walk from Shiroshita to Korakuen. When going to the main gate, cross Tsurumibashi, and when moving from the castle to Korakuen South Gate, check the official information on Tsukimi Bridge. Check facility notices for entry times and which door to use.

How to get to Kurashiki Station and Bikan Historical Quarter

If the direct bus time is right: Airport No. 3

Arrival hall on the 1st floor → Purchase a ticket to Kurashiki at the airport bus stop vending machine or prepare cash or transport IC card → Go to number 3 ‘倉敷駅方面’.
Take the Chutetsu non-stop bus bound for Kurashiki Station North Exit (倉敷駅北口). Approximately 35 minutes via highway, 1,400 yen for adults.
Get off at platform 2 at Kurashiki Station’s North Exit. If you are staying at an accommodation on the north side of the station, check the address. If you are going to an accommodation in the beautiful area or south of the station, take the south exit (南口) through the north-south passage of the station.

The timetable for October 1-24, 2026 shows airport departures at 9:15, 9:40, 11:45, 12:05, 13:45, 16:00, 18:55, and 19:20. If the wait for a non-stop service is long: Transfer to JR at Okayama Station

Take the bus bound for Okayama Station from Airport No. 2 → Get off at West Exit No. 21.
Go up to the station and buy a JR local train ticket (330 yen) or check your transport IC card balance and enter the conventional line ticket gate.
Take the local train toward Kurashiki/Fukuyama on the Sanyo Main Line. Generally, it is platform 1 and 2, but give priority to the electronic display board on the day. Even if your destination is Fukuyama or Itozaki, you can check whether it stops at Kurashiki before getting on. Separate fares are required for the limited express ‘Yakumo’, so please distinguish it from regular trains.
After about 16 to 18 minutes, get off at Kurashiki Station and take the south exit. There is no station from the airport where you can take the JR directly.

Shin-Kurashiki Station · 新倉敷駅 are different stations. Do not choose Shinkurashiki, where the Shinkansen stops, as your starting station for walking in the Bikan district.

From the South Exit to Bikan District

From the south exit of Kurashiki Station, walk south along Kurashiki Chuo Dori (倉敷中央通り) until you reach the ‘美観地区入口’ intersection and then turn east to reach the Kurashiki River. There is also a way to enter through the alleys around Kurashiki Monogatari Museum, Kurashiki Local History Museum, and Kurashiki Museum.

The official tourist map indicates that it is about 800 meters from the South Exit to the Bikan District, about a 10-minute walk. Please add the time from the north exit where you got off the bus to the time to your accommodation.

If you want to leave large luggage before sightseeing

Okaden Airport Bus can carry large suitcases in the lower trunk. Please ask a staff member to store your belongings and store your valuables yourself. JR official station information indicates that there are coin lockers at Okayama Station and Kurashiki Station. Check on site to see if large bags can fit, if there are empty seats, and when available.

The Kurashiki Tourism Organization provides 500 yen per bag for storage when lockers are not available at the tourist information centre in front of the station. Please inquire about reception/pickup times and size conditions before visiting, and do not assume that you can pick it up late at night.

Last airport buses, delayed flights and service changes

The last scheduled bus departing from the airport is from October 1 to 24, 2026, based on the official table: 21:25 → 21:55 arrival to Okayama Station, 19:20 → 19:55 arrival to Kurashiki. Do not confuse it with the last departure in the opposite direction from the station to the airport.

There are no day restrictions for flights departing from this airport. Travel after October 25th will need to check the timetable for the new coverage period.

Okaden informs you that the airport bus departure departs after the plane arrives, so in case of delay, it may not be able to operate as scheduled. The airport separately provides a extra bus to Okayama Station tailored to international arrivals from Incheon, Shanghai, Taipei, and Kaohsiung. It departs a certain period of time after arrival and is not included in the regular ticket.

Check the operator and on-site information at the airport for the departure time of the extra bus and whether there will be a wait in case of flight delay. For direct services to Kurashiki, the only conditions that may change if your flight is delayed are confirmed, so if you are late, ask about the remaining bus services at the bus stop.

If you missed the last departure directly to Kurashiki

If there are still buses to Okayama Station and JR also operates, you can transfer at the station and arrive at Kurashiki on the same day. On October 4, 2026, the last Sanyo Main Line local train in JR's official search was Okayama 23:34 → Kurashiki 23:50. If the last regular airport train arrives at 21:55 as scheduled, there is room to use a later train, but connection due to congestion, delay, or service suspension is not guaranteed.

Please search again by travel date and leave time to get off the bus and get to the ticket gate and platform.

If you bought a ticket but couldn’t get on, or public transportation ended

Since general boarding on this airport bus does not require reservations, changes to reserved seat reservations will not be processed. Keep unused paper tickets and check with the ticket issuing staff or operator to see if they can be used on the next service and the destination change and refund fees.

The airport's official flat-rate taxi information indicates ~7,100 yen for regular cars around Okayama Station and 9,800 yen around Kurashiki Station and Bikan Historical Quarter, based on general roads and one vehicle, and requires advance reservations. The Okaden Airport Bus informs you that large suitcases can be placed in the lower trunk. Ask the staff to load it for you. Check with the operator regarding the size and number of bags on the Chutetsu Kurashiki service. On JR trains and streetcars, you carry your luggage yourself, and you must check the size and empty space of the lockers at Okayama Station and Kurashiki Station on site.

What should I do if my flight is late and I miss the last departure?

The last scheduled bus departing from the airport is at 21:25 to Okayama Station and 19:20 to Kurashiki Station based on the October 1-24 timetable. The operator advises that bus services may change in case of flight delays and does not guarantee that all passengers will be accommodated. Ask the on-site staff about the remaining bus services.
