The direct ride takes about 23 minutes and costs 470 yen one way for adults. To go to Tateyama, you need to get off at the south side of Toyama Station, walk to Dentetsu Toyama Station, and then transfer to a separate train. There is no railway station at Airport.

The times below are based on after boarding the vehicle. Immigration, baggage collection, waiting, picking up the hire car, and walking to the accommodation are not included. Regular bus times are within the airport departure timetable until October 24th and may increase depending on congestion and snow cover.

Bus boarding steps bound for Toyama Station from the arrival hall
- After completing the arrival procedures, exit to the first floor. For international flights, complete immigration, baggage pickup, and customs first. The place to take the paid bus is Bus Stop No. 1 outside the first floor of the domestic terminal as indicated on the official airport map. Rather than looking for an unconfirmed international exit number, follow the domestic zone and bus directions.
- Prepare cash or other convenient payment method. For direct services, you can pay with a contactless payment card when getting off. This applies to cards compatible with Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, Diners, Discover, UnionPay, and smartphones. There is no need to tap when boarding. This credit card contactless payment is not possible for route 36 buses.
- Check the ‘富山駅前’ destination at platform 1. Check whether the timetable lists a non-stop airport bus or route 36. The operating company is Toyama Chiho Railway. Even the non-stop airport buses stop in front of Sogawa, Joshi Koen-mae and City Hall in the city centre section, so “non-stop” does not mean there are no city stops before the station.
- If you ride a regular bus with cash, get a numbered ticket. Board through the middle or rear doors, take a numbered ticket, and when getting off, check the fare table and put the fare and numbered ticket in the front fare box. The fare box does not give change, so change it into coins first while stopping.
- Get off at ‘Toyama Station’ and pack your luggage. For JR users, enter the station building through the south plaza and follow the JR signs. For Tateyama-bound users, follow the directions to ‘電鉄富山’ on the east side of the south plaza. If your accommodation is on the north side, you will need to cross the station's north-south free passage.
ecomyca, the local IC for regular buses, and national transport IC cards are different. Suica, ICOCA, and PASMO cannot be used on regular buses. For cash, prepare 1,000 yen bills or coins. Please note that the airport bus and its change machine do not accept bills over 2,000 yen.
If you use on-site ticketing, check the current ticket type and do not look for multiple tickets that were abolished on October 1.
There is no seat reservation window in the public airport line information, and direct services are limited to seating capacity and cannot board when all seats are full. The size, number of suitcases, and trunk load limits could not be confirmed as specified. For large luggage or groups, please call 076-432-3456 (weekdays 08:30~17:30) in advance. 076-432-3456

Toyama Station: south exit, north exit and rail connections
The paid bus terminal ‘Toyama Station · 富山駅’ is in the south. Number 6 for the airport is the departure bus stop number and does not indicate the bus stop number for the bus from the airport. The latest publicly available data does not indicate individual drop-off bays for arriving flights, so you must check with the on-site stop and driver guidance.
- JR train/Shinkansen: Enter the station building from the south plaza and follow the “JR / 新幹線” sign to the relevant ticket gate. You should not think of the streetcar platform inside the station as a JR platform.
- South accommodation: Start directions from the bus terminal to the accommodation address. If you need to cross a major road, use the crosswalk, and if you have a lot of luggage, it is convenient to leave it at your accommodation first.
- North Accommodation/Kansui Park: Do not enter the JR ticket gate, but exit to the North Plaza along the ‘north–south free passage · 南北自由通路’. Users of the free Taipei bus get off right on the north side and start walking.
- Tateyama Railway: On the east side of the south plaza, go to the separate station entrance/ticket booth following the directions from ‘電鉄富山’ on the side of the Esta building. Unconfirmed ticket gate floor and platform numbers will not be fixed and will follow the instructions on the day.

Just walk north towards the fountain and walking path at the southern end of the park. A walking section will be added from the southern approach to the park to the area around the canal and Tenmon Bridge.
Current tourist information estimates it to be about 10 minutes from the North Exit. The 10 minutes does not include walking time from the toll bus drop-off point to the north exit. - After arriving at the south side of Toyama Station by airport bus, walk to Dentetsu Toyama Station on the east side.
- Prepare a ticket for the ‘立山’ destination at a separate ticket booth/ticket machine and check the departure ticket for the day. You cannot ride local trains with JR tickets or airport bus fares.
- Choose a train that runs through to Tateyama, or if a transfer to Terada Station · 寺田駅 appears in the search results, transfer to Tateyama at that station. Don't think that all trains go to Tateyama.
- Get off at Tateyama Station and transfer to the cable car following the Alpine Route ticket pickup and departure instructions. Please allow some time between arriving at the railway platform and boarding the cable car.
The official connection schedule from April 15 to November 3 includes daily direct services such as Dentetsu Toyama 13:00 → Tateyama 14:13. Weekdays 13:50 → 14:55 and holidays 14:00 → 15:13 are examples of the last rail connection arriving before the 15:40 cable car to Murodo. This does not mean that this is the last departure of the day on the train to Tateyama itself. Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route · 立山黒部アルペンルート / Murodo · 室堂
From Tateyama Station, take the cable car to Bijodaira · 美女平, then take the plateau bus to Murodo. The Alpine Route is a tourist section that connects several transportation routes, and Murodo is an intermediate point within it. It is not introduced as a direct ticket from the airport to Murodo or Kurobe Dam.
The official timetable for 2026 is divided into April 15 - November 3 and November 4 - 30. Do not apply this table to December movements. In the winter ticket, the section between Tateyama Station, Ogisawa, and Shinano Omachi is scheduled to operate until November 30, and is scheduled to resume in mid-April 2027. From November 11, Kogen Bus will run non-stop between Bijodaira and Muro and will not stop at intermediate stops. The last cable car to Murodo will be moved forward to 15:00 on November 4-10 and 13:50 on November 11-30, so the October schedule should not be applied as is. Depending on snow cover, there may be service suspensions and time changes between Tateyama Station and Murodo, so check the winter tickets and same-day service notices. - After completing the arrival procedures, go to taxi stand number 2 outside the first floor of the domestic terminal. Reserved vehicles will follow the meeting location indicated on the reservation.

- Pick up your luggage at the entrance to the accommodation and pay using the method instructed by the driver or company.
The official airport table shows that the driving time to Toyama Station is approximately 20 minutes. The introduction on the same page also states 15 minutes, so this guide uses 20 minutes as the standard in the table for each destination. The current official estimated fee range has not been confirmed, so no fixed amount is used. Ask the company for a quote that includes nighttime surcharges, tolls, and reservation waiting fees.

Toyama Airport to the city: questions
How do I get from Toyama Airport to Toyama Station?
From platform 1 outside the first floor of the domestic terminal, take the Toyama Chiho Railway bound for Toyama Station (富山駅前). The direct route takes about 23 minutes, and the regular route 36 takes about 25 to 34 minutes according to the timetable, and costs 470 yen one way for adults. Entry, baggage collection, waiting, and walking times are separate.
Do I need to make a reservation for the airport bus?
The public airport line information clearly states that there is no advance seat reservation window and that direct services are limited to seating capacity and that you cannot ride if all seats are full. Check the timetable and prepare for on-site boarding, but please call 076-432-3456 in advance for groups or large luggage. You should not think of it as a bus with reserved seats.
How do I pay the bus fare?
Direct credit card contactless payment is tagged only once when getting off. This payment does not apply to route 36 buses, and cash users receive a numbered ticket and insert it with the fare when getting off. Suica, ICOCA, and PASMO are not available on regular buses, so prepare 1,000 yen bills or coins.
Where do I get off at Toyama Station?
The terminal point of the paid airport line is in front of Toyama Station in the south. Don't think of the platform number 6 for the airport as the arrival number. A separate free bus for Taipei users only arrives at Toyama Station North Exit (富山駅北口). Individual drop-off bay numbers for paid bus services are not confirmed in public information, so you must follow the driver and on-site guidance.
What is the difference between JR Toyama Station and Dentetsu Toyama Station?
JR Toyama Station is where you board the Shinkansen and JR trains, and the Toyama Regional Railway bound for Tateyama is boarded at Dentetsu Toyama Station on the east side of the south plaza. Instead of entering through the JR ticket gate, follow the signs for 電鉄富山 and go to the separate ticket booth/ticket gate. The tram stop at Dentetsu Toyama Station is also different from the train platform for Tateyama.
Can I walk from Toyama Station to Kansui Park?
The official tourist information is about a 10-minute walk from the north exit of the station. If you get off at the South Bus Terminal, first go to the North Plaza through the north-south free passage of the station. Your destination should be the fountain and walking path at the southern end of the park to the north. Please allow additional time to travel to the north exit after getting off the bus.
How do I get to Toyama Castle Park from the airport?
You can get off the paid airport line at Joshi Koen-mae (城址公園前) and walk to the park, or walk to the park for about 10 minutes from the south of Toyama Station. If you take the circular tram from the station, it takes about 7 minutes to get to the front of the station, and it's about a 2-minute walk to the park. Check with the driver when boarding to see if the bus will stop and where to get off.
Can I take the bus with a large suitcase?
Verified allowances for suitcase size, number of bags and luggage compartments on airport buses have not been confirmed in public data. Don't assume that direct and regular route vehicles have the same luggage space; check with the driver. If you have a lot of people and luggage, you can also inform them of the number of suitcases and receive a quote for the reserved vehicle.
What if my flight is late and I miss the last bus?
The last departure departing from the airport is scheduled to depart at 20:35 until October 24, and at 20:50 from October 25 to March 27, 2027. For direct services, the availability of passengers is checked approximately 10 minutes after the aircraft arrives. Departure times may change in the event of a delay, but unlimited waiting is not guaranteed. Once the service is over, use taxi stand number 2 outside the first floor of the domestic terminal or an official airport taxi company and inform the hotel of your late check-in.
Can I go to the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route on the same day I arrive at the airport?
Varies depending on date, arrival time, reserved departure time, and return connection. After taking the airport bus, you need to take a separate train from Dentetsu Toyama Station to Tateyama Station, and then take the cable car and Kogen Bus again to Murodo. The final connection to Murodo for the April 15 - November 3 timetable departs from Tateyama Station at 15:40, and the last connection back to Toyama for regular dates departs from Murodo at 16:20. These two connections cannot be combined into a same-day round trip course. Check the winter timetable separately from November 4th.
Where can I check winter driving conditions?
Check Toyama Airport's same-day flights, Toyama Chiho Railway's bus, rail, and streetcar operation information, and Alpine Route's same-day operation notices. Do not determine service suspension based solely on snow or strong wind forecasts. Please allow more time for the remaining walk to your accommodation and for transporting your carrier.
