Domestic and international flights are in different arrival areas in the same terminal, and the time you get off the plane and the time you leave the lobby are different.
  2. JR is on the right outside the terminal → Pedestrian bridge → Airport StationJR Yonago Airport Station · Yonago-airport Station · 米子空港駅 is not a station located in the basement of the terminal. On the 1st floor, follow the JR signs outside, walk to the right, cross the road using the pedestrian bridge indicated on the airport's official route map, and go to the station. The airport FAQ indicates that it is about a 5-minute walk. In the past, the airport map showed about 250m, but it is not used as a value to guarantee the total distance from the current international flight lobby to the platform. JR's current facility guide explains that the station entrance → platform is connected without steps and that there are no elevators or escalators in the station. This does not guarantee facilities for the entire section from the terminal to the pedestrian bridge or passage to avoid rain. For transporting large luggage, wheelchairs, or snowy roads, check the station facility information and the actual route at the airport information centre. 3. Check destination → Ticket/IC → Board Distinguish between Sakaiminato Line bound for Yonago and Sakaiminato. Local trains are used without separate reserved seat reservations, and seats are not guaranteed. For buses, choose a bus stop that matches the route.

  • Airport Station → Yonago: Weekdays 22:52 → 23:22, Saturdays and holidays 22:08 → 22:37. Just because the station has a timetable that departs after the terminal closes, doesn't mean you can wait in the lobby late at night.
  • Airport Station → Sakaiminato: Weekdays 23:15 → 23:29, Saturdays and holidays 22:30 → 22:45.
  • Airport → Yonago Station Domestic Flight Connection Bus: The last regular ticket is 21:30 → 21:58, ANA389 arrival connection. This is a different route from the 15:50 bus via Seoul hot springs.

  • Seoul → Kaike Onsen: Confirmed the 7th 15:50 → 16:15 episode on the relevant day. It was not introduced as a direct bus to the hot springs that runs every night.
  • Yonago Station → Kaike Onsen Tourist Centre: The operator's current schedule for weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays has confirmed that the last departure is 20:45 → 21:04. If you arrive at Yonago Station by a late airport bus, you may miss this bus.

Even if you arrive at Yonago, check if you can continue to Matsue.

In the confirmed schedule for October 4 and 5, the last regular train from Yonago → Matsue is 22:40 → 23:09. On Saturdays and holidays, the last departure to the airport station arrives at Yonago at 22:37, so there is only 3 minutes to transfer.

Considering baggage, platform movement, and delays, it is not recommended as a stable connection. On weekdays, the last departure from the airport station reaches Yonago at 23:22, after the last local train to Matsue has left.

There is also Yakumo No. 29 23:30 → Matsue 23:52, but there is an annotation that the service between Yonago and Izumo City will be suspended on October 13-15/19-22/26-29 and November 4/5/9 through 12/16-19. After the last departure, compare official taxis, confirmed pickups, and hotels.

Please inquire about destination, number of people, luggage and estimated fare at the official taxi stand number 5 outside the terminal. We also don't guarantee that your car will always be available at the airport. You can contact the airport taxi operator. Airport taxi operator You can contact

For reservation pickup, check the reservation number, meeting location, flight delay waiting limit, no-show, and cancellation policy of the confirmed company. If it is difficult to travel on the same day, you can check with the airport information centre and hotels and nearby hotels and means of transportation.

Don’t assume you can stay overnight in the terminal. For hire cars, use the official counter and registration agency on the first floor, and check business closure, vehicle pickup, valid licence, winter equipment, and return point before making a reservation.

Check availability with the rental company before relying on an on-the-spot booking.

If the flight is delayed or there is snow or strong winds

It cannot be said that a specific flight was cancelled just because it snowed, and JR holidays do not guarantee bus operation or seats. When walking after disembarking in winter, allow extra time considering wet roads, ice, wind, and large luggage, and check late check-in at your accommodation and check the entry location.

If you arrive late and alone, check the vehicle information at the official information centre or bus stop before moving on.

Local trains do not allow you to reserve specific seats, so you can check the next service. If you purchased limited express reserved seats in advance, check e5489 or the ticket office's change/refund policy before departure. e5489 or ticket issuer’s change/refund policy See

Conditions vary depending on the discount product and usage/receipt status. If you miss an unused reserved seat, you will not automatically receive the next reserved seat. For Minatoru, pick-up, and hire car reservations, contact the reservation office as soon as you become aware of the delay, and also check the validity period and refund conditions separately for pre-purchased bus tickets.

Yonago Airport transportation, frequently asked questions

How do I get from Yonago Airport to Yonago Station?

From JR Airport Station, take the local train to Yonago on the Sakaiminato Line. It takes about 30 minutes and costs 240 yen one way for adults. The airport bus connecting to domestic flights costs 640 yen and takes about 28 minutes according to the current timetable. The bus connecting Seoul takes about 45 minutes and costs 640 yen to Yonago Station via Kaike Onsen. Even if it is heading to Yonago Station, the route and bus stop are different.

How do I walk from the airport terminal to JR Yonago Airport Station?

After completing international arrivals, baggage, and customs, look for the JR sign in the arrival lobby on the first floor. Come out of the terminal, move to the right, pass the pedestrian bridge on the official guide map, and head to the airport station. The airport is approximately a 5-minute walk, but please allow extra time for movement within the international lobby, luggage, and weather. JR informs you that you can get from the station entrance to the platform without steps. This does not mean that elevators and roofs are guaranteed for all sections starting from the terminal.

Is it more convenient to stay at Yonago Station, the airport bus or JR?

If you have large luggage and there is a bus suitable for your arrival flight, the bus in front of the terminal may be convenient. To save money, compare JR 240 yen. However, you must walk to the station and wait for the train, and seats are not guaranteed. The Seoul bus passes through hot springs and takes about 45 minutes, so the bus is not always faster than the train.

Is there a bus that goes from Yonago Airport to Matsue Station without transferring?

Yes. The direct bus from No. 4 in front of the domestic arrival lobby to JR Matsue Station No. 9 takes about 45 minutes and costs 1,200 yen one way for adults. The ticket released until October 24, 2026 is a connection to six ANA domestic flights. After arriving on an international flight, wait for a suitable bus departure or transfer to JR at Yonago Station. Reservations are not accepted, and you may not be able to ride if all seats are full.

How do I transfer from Yonago Station to Matsue Station?

Get off at the JR Sakaiminato Line and check for local trains toward Matsue and Izumo City on the Sanin Main Line. Check whether it stops at Matsue and change the platform on the day. The regular train ride between Yonago and Matsue takes about 30 minutes, and the basic fare for the separate section is 510 yen. The fare from Airport Station to Matsue by local train is 770 yen according to the official tourist information. All seats on the limited express Yakumo are reserved and a limited express ticket is required in addition to the basic fare.

Which direction do I take the train to get from Yonago Airport to Sakaiminato?

From JR Airport Station, take the Sakaiminato Line bound for Sakaiminato. It's in the opposite direction to Yonago, takes about 15 minutes and costs 190 yen one way for adults. Minatoru departing from Airport No. 2 is a reservation-type shared bus that costs 100 yen. If you just wait according to the regular timetable, you must make a reservation through an app or phone, rather than taking the airport bus.

At which station do I get off at Mizuki Shigeru Road?

Get off at JR Sakaiminato Station. It is a street that starts in front of the station and continues for about 800 meters towards the Mizuki Shigeru Memorial Hall. The street entrance and the memorial hall are not at the same point, so add some time to get off and walk to the destination facility. If you go to Yonago Station, you've moved in the opposite direction.

How do I get from Yonago Airport to Kaike Onsen accommodation?

On Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays when the Seoul service bus operates, you can travel from Airport No. 7 to Kaike Onsen in about 25 minutes and for 500 yen. The departure time for tickets released until October 24, 2026 is 15:50. If the flight is cancelled, buses will not run. At other times, compare the 300 yen city bus to Kaike Onsen Tourist Centre via Yonago Station. No buses stop in front of all ryokans, so you'll have to walk or take a taxi to your accommodation.

What transportation is convenient if I have a large suitcase?

If the actual drop-off point of the direct bus is close to your accommodation, transfers and walking can be reduced. Buses bound for Matsue have trunk usage instructions, but you must inquire with the operator regarding the quantity, size, wheelchair, and special equipment. JR local trains have non-reserved seats and can be crowded. Don't leave your luggage in the aisle or at the door, and don't assume that the loading space on a city bus is the same as that on an airport bus.

What if I arrive late or miss the last departure?

Please judge by the time you finish entering the country and receiving your baggage, not the time of landing. The last departure to Yonago from Airport Station is 22:52 in the confirmed weekday ticket, 22:08 in the Saturday and holiday ticket, and 23:15 and 22:30 for Sakaiminato, respectively. Please also check for changes by date and the airport terminal closing at 22:00. Once your transfer is over, inquire about your destination, baggage, and fares at the official taxi stand number 5, or find a reserved vehicle with confirmed waiting conditions and nearby lodging.

Where can I check the same-day operation status of flights, JR, and buses?

Check same-day flight information from airports and airlines, JR West Chugoku region operation information, and Hinomaru and Matsue Ichibata bus announcements. Just because one transportation service is suspended due to snow or strong winds, it does not necessarily mean that all other transportation services will be suspended or alternative transportation services will be operated. If you have a scheduled pickup, check with the company about waiting, change, or cancellation conditions in case of flight delay.
