Individual permanent-exhibition admission is JPY 1,000 for adults, JPY 800 for senior high school and university students, and JPY 500 for primary and junior high school students and ages 70 and over. Preschool children enter free, but check booking and application conditions. Special exhibitions and the outdoor dinosaur museum cost extra.

Regular hours are 9 am–5 pm, with entry until 4:30 pm. Buy a ticket ahead for your chosen date and entry slot.

How to get to Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum
Take an Echizen Railway Katsuyama Eiheiji Line train from Fukui Station to Katsuyama terminus, then change to a museum bus. The train takes about one hour and the bus about 15 minutes, excluding waiting and transfer time. In the 1 April 2026 bus timetable, the D-Line runs on museum opening days. The C-Line has different operating conditions and stop order; check your intended route. Fukui–Katsuyama trains cost JPY 820 one way for an adult. Katsuyama–museum buses cost JPY 300 one way for adults and JPY 200 for children.

Closures and extended summer hours
The museum closes on the second and fourth Wednesdays each month, moving to the following day if a Wednesday is a public holiday. It lists no closures during the summer school holidays. Check the calendar for 31 December–1 January and temporary exhibition-change or inspection closures. Extended summer hours ran from 18 July to 16 August 2026: 8:30 am–6 pm, with entry until 5:30 pm.
