Individual permanent-exhibition admission costs JPY 1,000 for adults, JPY 800 for senior high school and university students, and JPY 500 for primary and junior high school students and visitors aged 70 and above. Preschool admission is free, but check reservation and application conditions. Special exhibitions and the outdoor dinosaur museum cost extra.

How to get to Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum
Take the Katsuyama-bound Echizen Railway Katsuyama Eiheiji Line from Fukui to the terminus, then change to a museum bus. Rides take about one hour by rail and 15 minutes by bus; waits/transfers are extra. The 1 April 2026 timetable lists D Line operation on museum opening days; C Line conditions and stop order differ. Adult Fukui–Katsuyama rail fare is JPY 820 one way; Katsuyama–museum bus is JPY 300 adult/JPY 200 child one way.

Closing days and extended summer hours
Closed on the second and fourth Wednesdays each month, or the following day if Wednesday is a public holiday. The guide lists no closures during summer holidays. Check the visit-date calendar for 31 December–1 January and temporary closures for exhibition changes or inspections. Extended summer hours in 2026 ran 18 July–16 August, 08:30–18:00 with last admission at 17:30.
