Individual admission costs JPY 800 for adults and JPY 400 for primary and secondary school students, including tax; younger children enter free. For groups of 20 or more, adults pay JPY 600 and school students pay JPY 300.
Opening hours
The main entrance opens 09:00–18:00, with last admission at 17:30. The secondary entrance opens 10:00–15:00 on weekdays and 09:00–16:00 on weekends and public holidays. Use the main entrance for cash payment.

How to get to The Sand Museum
Take a local bus from Tottori Station's terminal to Suna-no-Bijutsukan-mae (砂の美術館前). Allow roughly 21 minutes on the bus and one minute on foot to the museum. From Sakyu Higashiguchi (砂丘東口), the walk is about five minutes.

Check that your date falls within the exhibition period
The exhibition runs 24 April 2026–3 January 2027, open daily during that period. The museum closes during exhibition changes; check the next opening date for a later visit.
Different entrance hours and payment options
Cash is accepted only at the main entrance. The secondary entrance opens 10:00–15:00 on weekdays and 09:00–16:00 on weekends and public holidays, closing earlier than the main entrance. For a late-afternoon arrival, use the main entrance before last admission at 17:30.
