Tottori's Sand Museum lets you see sculptures made from sand up close. A visit after a dunes walk combines a natural sand landscape and artworks made from the same material in one day.

Individual admission is ¥800 for adults and ¥400 for elementary, junior high, and senior high school students; preschool children enter free. Prices include tax. Groups of 20 or more pay ¥600 per adult or ¥300 per student.
Opening hours
The main entrance is open 9 a.m.–6 p.m., last entry 5:30 p.m. The secondary entrance is open 10 a.m.–3 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m.–4 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. Use the main entrance to pay cash.

How to get to The Sand Museum · 砂の美術館
Take a local bus from Tottori Station's terminal to Suna no Bijutsukan-mae · 砂の美術館前. The ride takes about 21 minutes, followed by a one-minute walk to the museum. From Sakyu Higashiguchi · 砂丘東口, the walk is about five minutes.

The exhibition runs April 24, 2026–January 3, 2027, without regular closures during that period. The museum closes between exhibitions; check the next exhibition's opening date if visiting later.
Entrance-specific hours and payment
Cash payment is available only at the main entrance. The secondary entrance is open 10 a.m.–3 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m.–4 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, closing earlier than the main entrance. For a late-afternoon arrival, use the main entrance before its 5:30 p.m. last-entry time.
