Individual admission, including tax, costs JPY 800 for adults or JPY 400 for primary, junior high and senior high school pupils. Preschool children enter free. For groups of 20 or more, admission costs JPY 600 for adults or JPY 300 for school pupils.
Opening hours and closed days
The main entrance opens from 09:00 to 18:00, with last entry at 17:30. The secondary entrance opens from 10:00 to 15:00 on weekdays and from 09:00 to 16:00 on weekends and public holidays. Use the main entrance for cash payment.

How to get to The Sand Museum
Take a local bus from Tottori Station’s terminal to Suna-no-Bijutsukan-mae (砂の美術館前). The ride takes about 21 minutes, followed by about 1 minute on foot. From Sakyu Higashiguchi (砂丘東口), the walk is about 5 minutes.

The exhibition runs from 24 April 2026 to 3 January 2027, open every day during that period. The museum closes between exhibitions; check the next opening date for later visits.
Different entrance hours and payment options
Cash payment is available only at the main entrance. The secondary entrance opens 10:00–15:00 on weekdays and 09:00–16:00 on weekends/public holidays, closing earlier. For a late-afternoon arrival, reach the main entrance before last entry at 17:30.
