Standard return Dentetsu-Toyama–Murodo fares are JPY 10,220 for adults and JPY 5,110 for children aged 6–11; the official fare guide lists children under six as free. The adult rate applies from 15 April 2026. This includes train, cable car and highland bus to Murodo and back the same way, excluding Kurobe Dam and Ogizawa. Special or reserved seats, meals and accommodation cost extra.
Opening hours
The planned 2026 Alpine Route season is 15 April–30 November. These are mountain transport operating dates, rather than opening hours for the Murodo area; this route does not apply outside the season. Timetables vary by season and weekday or weekend. Weather, safety or crowds may cause suspensions or changes. Check outward and final return connections in your travel-date timetable. The Snow Wall viewing period is separate.
What to see at Murodo
From the terminal to Murododaira
The rooftop exit from Murodo Terminal leads to Murododaira. Return to the same terminal after exploring to use restaurants or shops. Meals are separate from transport costs.
How to get to Murodo
Take a Tateyama-bound Toyama Chiho Railway train from Dentetsu-Toyama and get off at Tateyama. Continue by cable car to Bijodaira, then highland bus to Murodo. Return by highland bus to Bijodaira, cable car to Tateyama and train to Dentetsu-Toyama. Leave time between your train arrival and booked Tateyama departure to collect tickets and transfer.

Before you visit
Check your booked departure station
For a WEB ticket, register and choose your date, route, single or return journey and departure time. On the Toyama side, the booked time is departure from Tateyama Station, rather than the train from Dentetsu-Toyama. In busy periods, the operator advises arriving 30 minutes beforehand and collecting tickets at least 15 minutes before departure.
Choose return connections all the way to Toyama first
Return to Murodo Terminal before your highland bus. Change from bus to cable car down to Tateyama, then take a local train to Dentetsu-Toyama. Matching only the final mountain service is insufficient; check connections through to the local railway. Final mountain connections are earlier in November.

Questions about Murodo
Does the Murodo return ticket cover Kurobe Dam?
The Dentetsu-Toyama–Murodo return ticket excludes sections crossing to Kurobe Dam and Ogizawa. It returns from Murodo by the same route; choose a ticket for the actual sections if you want to reach Kurobe Dam.
Is the Snow Wall open throughout the Alpine Route season?
The Snow Wall has a separate viewing period and is not open every day the Alpine Route operates. Check travel-date viewing information along with weather suspensions and on-site restrictions.
