Stay at one property or move to Yufuin?
With two Beppu nights, visit hells and ropeway on different days. For an onsen-town night, choose one Beppu night followed by a Yufuin move. Adjust viewing to day-one arrival and final-day airport buses.
Choose an itinerary for 3 days / 2 nights
Separate days for two hell areas and mountain views
Stay two nights at the same accommodation around Beppu Station. The airport Airliner arrives at Kitahama, so arrange accommodation access separately. Use the hells combined ticket on days one and two; choose day-three ropeway sightseeing only with time for flight check-in.

Stay one night around Beppu Station, then one around Yufuin Station. Arrive in Beppu during daylight with time for the ropeway on day one. For late immigration, omit that visit or change your trip's scope.

Day one: airport, accommodation and five Kannawa hells
Leave luggage and choose the Kannawa hells you can see before closing.
- Oita Airport and accommodation → Beppu Station west side and Kannawa viewing
Alight at Kitahama from the airport, leave luggage at your accommodation and go to Beppu Station west-side stand 3. Take route 5 towards APU to Umi Jigoku-mae for Kannawa's five nearby hells. Choose your return from the official weekday and weekend timetable first.

Leave luggage at your accommodation after Kitahama arrival, then reach Beppu Station's west-side Kannawa boarding point. Allow walks between facilities and back to the return stop. Reduce viewing to fit your bus after closing.
Day two: Chinoike and Tatsumaki, then Beppu accommodation
Use yesterday's combined ticket at the unvisited Chinoike and Tatsumaki hells, then return to the same Beppu accommodation.
- Beppu accommodation → East-side stand 5 to Chinoike Jigoku-mae
Get today's JPY 1,100 Kamenoi Bus Mini day pass and take route 26 from Beppu-Ekimae east-side stand 5 to Chinoike Jigoku-mae. Return on the route 16 outer loop towards Beppu-Ekimae. Route 26 returns towards Kannawa, so distinguish directions. Check weekday and weekend timetables alongside entrance walks and eruption waits.

- Chinoike and Tatsumaki → Route 16 to Beppu accommodation and rest
Use yesterday's combined ticket once at each of the two unvisited facilities. It does not permit repeat visits; bathing costs extra. Return to the station for lunch, then rest at your accommodation or use a booked bath. You are not going to the airport today. Today's JPY 1,100 Mini day pass covers the return journey and is included in the total. It is separate from hell admission; day one's route 5 return uses ordinary fares.

- Beppu accommodation → West-side stand 1 to the ropeway stop
Take a route 36 service that stops at the ropeway from Beppu Station west-side stand 1 to Beppu Ropeway. Choose both directions from the official weekday and weekend timetable. Some services skip the ropeway, so check its stop marker. Omit the visit for a late arrival or suspension.

- Beppu accommodation → Kitahama airport-bound boarding point
Collect luggage and reach Kitahama's airport-bound boarding point. Choose walking or transport for your actual address and budget its time and cost separately. The airport-bound boarding location differs from where you alighted on arrival.
Check the actual route and time from your accommodation to Kitahama's airport-bound boarding point.
- Kitahama airport-bound boarding point → Oita Airport
Choose an airport bus from the dated official timetable with a margin before airline check-in closes. Adult fare is JPY 1,600 one way. Allow road delays and airport processing beyond scheduled arrival. Reduce or omit final-day sightseeing if you cannot catch this service afterwards.
Choose both directions of a route 36 service that actually stops at the ropeway from the station's west side. The facility is about one minute on foot from the stop; ticketing, boarding and descent queues take extra time. Omit the ropeway if returning to Beppu, collecting luggage and reaching Kitahama still leaves insufficient airport check-in time.
Included items: Hells combined ticket JPY 2,400, route 5 return JPY 780, ropeway return JPY 1,800, route 36 ropeway return JPY 1,000, Kitahama airport buses return JPY 3,200; day-two Kamenoi Bus Mini day pass JPY 1,100 for route 26 outward and route 16 return
Costs outside the subtotal: Accommodation, meals, flights, bathing, private facilities, luggage storage and extra travel between accommodation, Kitahama, stations and bus centres.
This subtotal adds the hells combined ticket and listed transport and admission. Day two's JPY 1,100 Mini day pass is included in JPY 10,280. A day pass cannot be reused on another date and does not replace hell admission. Accommodation, meals, flights and bathing cost extra. If omitting the ropeway, subtract its JPY 1,000 return bus and JPY 1,800 return ticket.

If you missed yesterday's ropeway, do not add a Beppu return trip with luggage. Return for property check-in and dinner. Return from Lake Kinrin to your property, collect luggage and reach Yufuin-Ekimae Bus Center. Buses are not timed to guarantee flights; shorten walks or take an earlier bus if check-in time is tight. For an earlier airport arrival than services allow, change the previous night's base.
Included items: Airport–Kitahama JPY 1,600, ropeway return JPY 1,800, route 36 ropeway return JPY 1,000, Beppu–Yufuin JPY 1,100, Yufuin–airport JPY 2,000

Only items confirmed from ordinary section fares are included. This is not a total budget including accommodation and meals. If omitting the ropeway, exclude its JPY 1,000 return bus and JPY 1,800 ticket. The Yufuin accommodation move includes only route 36's JPY 1,100 one-way fare, without a return fare.
