Admission

Collection exhibition admission is JPY 510 for adults and JPY 310 for university students. Senior high school students and younger, and visitors aged 65 and older, enter free; check required identification and eligibility conditions. Shukkeien combination tickets cost JPY 660 for adults and JPY 350 for university students. Special exhibition fees vary by exhibition.

Opening hours

Regular hours are 09:00–17:00, with last entry at 16:30. Friday hours extend to 20:00 or 19:00 depending on the exhibition and period. The museum closes on Mondays, 25 December–1 January and exhibition changeover days. Exceptions apply when Monday is a public holiday and during some special exhibitions, so check the closure calendar for your visit date.

How to get to Hiroshima Prefectural Art Museum

From Hiroshima Station, take tram route 2 or 6 to Hatchobori. Transfer to route 9 towards Hakushima and get off at Shukkeien-mae, near the museum. Shukkeien is directly beside it. To return, take route 9 towards Hatchobori and transfer there to route 2 or 6 towards Hiroshima Station. Following the transfer rules keeps the adult fare at JPY 240 one way or JPY 480 return. If paying cash, collect a transfer ticket when getting off the first tram; it is valid that day. With a transit IC card, tap on and off every tram and transfer within 60 minutes after getting off the first tram. The journey back in the opposite direction after your visit requires a new fare.

Extended Friday hours in 2026–2027

On Fridays during 1 April–23 September 2026, the museum opens until 20:00, with last entry at 19:30. During 24 September 2026–31 March 2027, Friday hours extend to 19:00, with last entry at 18:30. Also check the exhibition and period-specific operating information for your visit date.
