Admission
Permanent-exhibition admission is ¥840 ordinary or ¥470 for university students, who must show student ID. Senior high school students, people under 18, and elementary and junior high school students enter free. Ordinary special-exhibition admission is ¥340, separate from permanent admission. Check the official prices for your date for age- or residency-based reductions and special-exhibition conditions.

How to get to Lake Biwa Museum
Take a museum-bound Ohmi bus from bay 2 at JR Kusatsu Station's west exit. After about 25 minutes, get off at the museum stop and walk to the museum. The adult fare is ¥480 each way or ¥960 return, separate from admission. Check both outward and return services.

The museum closes Mondays, except public holidays. Temporary closures also occur, so check your date in the official opening calendar. Find both the bus from Kusatsu Station and the return bus from the museum to plan your visit time.
