Admission
Standard adult admission costs JPY 1,600; elementary, junior high and high school students pay JPY 800; children aged zero to six enter free. Adults are visitors aged 15 and over excluding junior high and high school students. Admission includes the garden, residence and Shoko Shuseikan.

Open 09:00–17:00, with last entry at 16:30.

What to see at Sengan-en
A garden walk with Sakurajima as the backdrop
Look towards Sakurajima beyond the garden as you walk. Visit for a leisurely stroll combining garden and mountain scenery.
Residence interiors and Shoko Shuseikan
You can explore the Shimazu family’s former residence inside. After the garden and residence, continue to Shoko Shuseikan, included in your ticket.
How to get to Sengan-en
Take the JR Nippo Main Line from Kagoshima-Chuo Station on a service stopping at Sengan-en Station, then walk about five minutes. By City View, get off at Sengan-en (Iso Teien-mae). As it is a loop bus, check your boarding point and direction.

City View loops via Shiroyama and other attractions before Sengan-en. Choose the places you want to visit, then check stop order and the next bus time. For direct JR access, choose a train stopping at Sengan-en Station.
