The sushi event runs Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Japanese public holidays. From May 15, 2026, it starts at 9:00 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 8:00 a.m. on Sundays and holidays. Stalls finish selling when they sell out; check closing times and temporary schedules for your visit date. General market hours differ from the sushi event; it does not run Monday–Thursday unless it is a Japanese public holiday.

How to get to Karato Market
Take a Karato-bound Kokudo Line bus from bay 1 or 2 at Shimonoseki Station. After about seven minutes, get off at Karato and walk about three minutes to the market. The regular adult fare is ¥260 one way. Return from the Shimonoseki Station-bound stop.
