Visitor information
Admission
The return elevator fare is JPY 600 for junior high school students and older and JPY 400 for elementary school students. Preschool children ride free. No reservations are taken; access is first come, first served.
Opening hours
The elevator runs 08:00–17:00 from March 1 through November 30 and 09:00–16:30 from December 1 through the end of February. Last admission is 20 minutes before service ends.

The ground-level and lower platforms offer views from different heights. To see the water and cliffs from below too, take the paid elevator down.

How to get to Kegon Falls
Take a Tobu bus bound for Chuzenji Onsen or Yumoto Onsen from JR Nikko or Tobu Nikko Station. Get off at Chuzenji Onsen and follow the Kegon Falls signs east for about five minutes to the elevator entrance.
Visiting tips
Check mist and elevator operations
Mist can hide the waterfall, and weather can suspend the elevator. Temporary changes are also possible, so check on-site information and official service notices before visiting the lower platform.

Do I need to take the elevator to see Kegon Falls?
No. You can also see the falls from the ground-level platform. The lower platform requires the paid elevator; access depends on that day’s mist and service conditions.
