Admission
Bridge return tickets cost ¥500 for junior high school students and older, ¥250 for elementary school students, and nothing for preschool children. No separate one-way ticket is sold. The combination ticket for Kintaikyo, the ropeway and Iwakuni Castle costs ¥1,550 per adult or ¥700 per elementary school student.
Opening hours
The bridge can be crossed 24 hours a day. The ticket office normally opens 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., extending to 6:00 p.m. in the tourist season and 7:00 p.m. in summer. Pay at the fare box when staff are absent. High river levels, heavy rain or strong winds may close the bridge.

See both riverbanks as you cross the wooden arches. Walk about five more minutes beyond the bridge to reach Kikko Park.

How to get to Kintaikyo Bridge
Take a Kintaikyo-bound bus from bay 1 at Iwakuni Station. After about 20 minutes, get off at Kintaikyo and walk about a minute to the bridge. Adult fares on routes 11 and 21 via Muronoki are ¥300 one way or ¥600 return. Check fares separately for other routes. From Shin-Iwakuni Station, the bus ride to Kintaikyo takes about 15 minutes.

The bridge has steps, and rain or snow can make the surface slippery. High river levels, heavy rain or strong winds may close it; follow official operating information and signs on site.

Can I cross Kintaikyo with a one-way ticket?
Individual admission is a return ticket; no separate one-way ticket is sold. After walking to Kikko Park, cross back using the same return ticket.
