How to get to Yahiko Shrine
Take the JR Echigo Line from Niigata to Yoshida, then change to a Yahiko-bound JR Yahiko Line train and get off at Yahiko. Walk about 1 km or 15 minutes to the shrine. Return from Yahiko to Yoshida, then change for Niigata. Check actual-date return trains and fares with JR.

Choose Yoshida transfers and return trains together
Change trains at Yoshida, then walk from Yahiko Station to the shrine. Choose return trains in advance, allowing the walk back to the station and the Yoshida transfer.

Do I need to reach the summit to visit Yahiko Shrine?
You can visit just the shrine grounds. The shrine reached on foot from Yahiko Station is separate from the summit’s Okumiya. For the summit too, check transport such as the ropeway, extra prices and hours.

Is there a direct train from Niigata Station to Yahiko Shrine?
