Niigata city riverside walking guideOfficial observatory information
Can I add Sado Gold Mine to a half-day city route?
The mine is on Sado Island. The car ferry from Niigata Port to Ryotsu takes about two hours and 30 minutes one way, followed by an island bus to the mine. Plan a separate island trip rather than adding it to a half-day Niigata city walk. The three-night, four-day and four-night, five-day mine routes have two Ryotsu nights, separating the mine visit from the ferry return.
