Day 2: Marinepia Nihonkai

See marine life in the Sea of Japan main tank and penguin exhibits. Indoor exhibits are accessible on rainy days.

    Take a C22 bus bound for Suizokukan-mae from Niigata Station bus terminal bay 9 and get off at the terminus. The adult fare is ¥260 one way. On departure day, choose your return bus before setting your visit length.

  2. Suizokukan-mae bus stop → Aquarium front entrance and ticket office

    Enter through the front entrance, buy your ticket beside the museum shop, then go to the visitor entrance. Ordinary adult admission is ¥1,500. Normal hours are 09:00–17:00, with ticket sales until 16:30.

  3. Aquarium exhibits → Meal and rest, then Suizokukan-mae bus stop

    Explore the Sea of Japan main tank and indoor exhibits, then have lunch and rest. You can continue to the penguin and marine mammal areas afterwards. Choose performances from the day’s information; meals and additional activities cost extra. After your visit, leave through the exit and return to Suizokukan-mae bus stop.

  2. Toki Messe bus stop → Bandaijima Building floor 1, direct elevator, then floor 31

    Cross the plaza and enter Bandaijima Building through the Hotel Nikko Niigata and office entrance. Take the direct observatory elevator from floor 1 to floor 31, distinguishing it from the hotel and office elevators. Ordinary admission is free. Normal hours are 08:00–22:00, with last admission at 21:30. Private bookings and events may shorten hours or close the observatory.

They are separate routes. This aquarium itinerary uses ¥520 return C22 fares. To switch to the loop bus, choose that route’s timetable again and show a valid day pass at the ticket office for the aquarium discount.
