How to get to Shinjuku Central Park

Leave JR Shinjuku Station through the West Exit and walk about 10 minutes. On departure day, return the same way after your walk to collect luggage from your Shinjuku hotel and continue to the airport.

Office hours differ from park access hours

The management office opens 09:00–17:00, but those are not the hours of the entire park. Plan a daytime walk and follow park notices during construction, events or access controls.

The park is about 10 minutes from JR Shinjuku Station's West Exit. For a departure-morning walk, allow time to return to your hotel, collect luggage and travel to the airport.

Questions about Shinjuku Central Park

Are Shinjuku Central Park and Shinjuku Gyoen the same place?

They are different. Central Park is west of Shinjuku and free for walks, with sports facilities charged separately. Shinjuku Gyoen is a garden with admission and closure days; its gates and approaches also differ.
