Adults pay ¥500; visitors aged 65 and over and students aged 16 and over pay ¥250. Ages 15 and under enter free. For discounted entry, bring the age evidence or student ID required by the official information.

Opening hours

From 1 October to 14 March, open 09:00–16:30 with entry until 16:00. From 15 March to 30 September, open 09:00–18:00 with entry until 17:30. Within that period, 11 June–31 July has extended hours of 09:00–19:00 with entry until 18:30. Entry always ends 30 minutes before seasonal closing time. Normally closed Mondays and 29 December–3 January. Public holidays and cherry blossom or chrysanthemum exhibition periods have exceptions; check advance reservation conditions during flower seasons as well.

How to get to Shinjuku Gyoen

Walk about 10 minutes from JR Shinjuku Station's South Exit to Shinjuku Gate. It is about 5 minutes from Shinjuku-gyoemmae Exit 1 or Shinjuku-sanchome Exit E5. Other gates have different approaches, so match your directions to the entrance you will use.

Check flower-season openings and reservation conditions

Normally closed Mondays, or the next weekday when Monday is a public holiday, and 29 December–3 January. Some Mondays open during cherry blossom and chrysanthemum exhibition periods. Check advance reservation conditions in the notices for the relevant flower season.
