A — Castle, market and coast

Spend one night in Kochi to explore inside the castle and eat at the market on day one, then see Katsurahama’s coast on day two. Leave time between the return bus to Kochi and your journey to the departing flight or onward service.

Day 1 · Castle visit and a market meal

Visit Kochi Castle and the market on day one, then Katsurahama on day two. Choose this route only if you can reach the castle before last admission and have enough time after the coastal return trip to reach your departure.

  1. Kochi-Ekimae tram stop → Kochijo-mae stop and Kochi Castle Park

Take a Harimayabashi-bound tram from Kochi-Ekimae, then change at Harimayabashi for an Ino-bound tram. Get off at Kochijo-mae and walk to the castle park. When changing with cash tickets, follow the first tram’s transfer-ticket conditions at the designated stop. From Obiyamachi or Ohashidori, compare walking directly to the park.

  2. Kochi Castle Park → Castle keep and Kaitokukan

Climb the park’s steps and buy your ticket at the keep and Kaitokukan entrance. These paid buildings open 9 a.m.–5 p.m., with last admission at 4:30 p.m.; admission is ¥500 for ages 18 and older. Closed December 26–January 1. Allow time to walk from the stop and climb the steps to the entrance.

Day 1 · Market meal and shopping-street walk

Eat at the market on day one, then combine the Ryoma memorial museum and Katsurahama on day two. Kochi Castle’s keep is excluded. If your day-two departure is early, compare a city-focused route, as a coastal return trip may not fit.

Checks before departure and on the day, plus FAQs

Can I reserve MY Yu Bus seats?

Regular seats cannot be reserved or assigned. Even with a ticket, a full bus may prevent boarding, so check the next service alongside visiting and return times. Wheelchair use requires a separate reservation by 5 p.m. the previous day and confirmation of vehicle and stop conditions.

Does the returning MY Yu Bus also stop south of Kochi Station?

The final Katsurahama departure on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays arrives at Kochi Station’s north-side bus terminal. The usual south-side Kochi Tabihiroba departure point does not mean every return uses that location. Check the official timetable’s arrival location if connecting to another service at the station.
