Admission
General adult admission is 1,600 yen. Elementary, junior-high and high-school students pay 800 yen; ages 0–6 enter free. The general adult category is ages 15+ excluding junior-high and high-school students. Admission includes the garden, residence and Shoko Shuseikan Museum.

Open 09:00–17:00, with last admission at 16:30.

Walk the garden with Sakurajima beyond it. Choose this for unhurried walks combining gardens and mountain scenery.
Residence interior and Shoko Shuseikan Museum
You can enter the Shimazu family’s former residence. After the garden and house, continue to Shoko Shuseikan Museum, included in admission.

How to get to Sengan-en
Take JR’s Nippo Main Line from Kagoshima-Chuo and get off at Sengan-en Station. Choose a train that actually stops there; the garden is about five minutes away on foot. On City View, get off at Sengan-en (Iso Teien-mae). Check boarding points and direction for this loop bus.
