Admission
Ordinary adults pay JPY 1,600; primary, junior high school and senior high school students pay JPY 800. Ages 0–6 are free. The ordinary adult category is ages 15 and over excluding junior high school and senior high school students. Admission includes the garden, residence and Shoko Shuseikan.
Opening hours
Sengan-en opens 09:00–17:00, with admission until 16:30.

Garden walks with Sakurajima as a backdrop
See Sakurajima beyond the garden as you walk. Visit for an unhurried stroll combining garden and mountain scenery.
Residence interiors and Shoko Shuseikan
Explore inside the Shimazu family's former residence. After the garden and residence, continue to Shoko Shuseikan, included in your admission ticket.
How to get to Sengan-en
Take the JR Nippo Main Line from Kagoshima-Chuo Station to Sengan-en Station, choosing a train that stops there. The garden is about 5 minutes' walk away. On City View, get off at Sengan-en (Iso-Teien-mae). Check boarding location and direction because it is a loop bus.

Combining other attractions by City View
City View reaches Sengan-en on a loop via attractions such as Shiroyama. Choose your visits, then check stop order and the next bus time. For a direct JR journey, select a train stopping at Sengan-en Station.

Closed for the Kagoshima Marathon on March's first Sunday
Sengan-en closes on the Kagoshima Marathon day, the first Sunday in March. Check the operator's closure notice if visiting around then.
