Okinawa’s main island is long. Naha’s markets and Kokusai Street belong to a different day from a trip up the northern coast.

Can I see flowers in winter?
Okinawa’s cherry blossoms arrive earlier than on Japan’s main islands. Mt. Yaedake in the north is a January–February candidate; check the year’s bloom report and allow travel time from Naha.
Can I swim on the day?
Blue water on camera does not establish safe swimming. Check beach notices, wind, waves and typhoon updates. Churaumi Aquarium is a separate northern-island trip from Naha.
Where to go in Okinawa Main Island
Naha and Kokusai Street
A useful first stop for shopping and food after the airport. Decide whether to walk on to Makishi Market and leave Shurijo Castle Park for another part of the trip.

Ocean Expo Park and Churaumi Aquarium
The aquarium is inside Ocean Expo Park in Motobu, northern Okinawa. Treat it as a north-island outing and allow for the return trip from Naha.

There is no JR railway or JR wide pass on Okinawa’s main island. Yui Rail suits Naha; plan a separate bus or road trip for the Churaumi Aquarium in the north.

Choose Kencho-mae, Miebashi or Makishi by the end of Kokusai Street closest to your hotel. The monorail does not go to Churaumi Aquarium.

Reach the northern aquarium by highway bus or car. Its official guidance estimates about three hours by bus from Naha Airport or two by expressway car; stops and traffic change the actual time.
