Arima Onsen: arriving in the hot-spring town and using day baths

Arima Onsen · 有馬温泉

Arima Onsen sits in the hills north of Kobe. Treat the journey to the town, the walk to your accommodation and any day-bath visit as separate steps.

The Arima Onsen Koen Bridge camera is a refreshed river-side image, not an indoor bath camera.

Separate rail and bus arrival points

Arima Onsen Station on Kobe Electric Railway is the rail arrival point. Compare the official routes for your starting city rather than assuming that train and bus end at the same place.

If you are staying at a ryokan, ask whether it offers a station pickup. The final walk changes with the property location.

Check day-use baths individually

The official Arima Onsen information lists facilities that accept day visitors. If you are not staying overnight, confirm each facility’s day-use reception and hours before travelling.

A walk around Koen Bridge and the Arima River is separate from using a bathhouse, which makes it easier to sequence the day.

What the Koen Bridge image is

Kobe’s river camera faces the downstream right bank near Koen Bridge and is described as a periodically refreshed image. It is an outdoor river view, not an indoor hot-spring view.
