Follow Oishi Park’s lakeside paths for Mt. Fuji views. Flowers and plants change by season, and clouds may hide the mountain.
- AdmissionPark walks are free; shopping and activities cost extra.
- HoursThe park, Natural Living Center and shops have different opening hours. Check each shop’s hours if visiting the center or shops.
- Getting thereTake the Red Line sightseeing bus from Kawaguchiko Station to the Natural Living Center terminus. Walk the park paths, then use the station-bound stop for your return.

Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway
富士山パノラマロープウェイ
Take this ropeway for high views of Kawaguchiko and Mt. Fuji. Ride about three minutes to the viewpoint for lake panoramas and Fuji views. This paid facility requires separate queuing and sightseeing time. Clouds may hide Fuji; strong winds suspend services.
- AdmissionThrough October 2026, individual returns cost adults 1,000 yen and children 500. From 1 November, planned return fares are adults 1,200 and children 600.
- HoursHours vary by season. Check your date’s final upward/downward services and shortened hours or inspection suspensions with the operator.
- Getting thereOfficial guidance gives about 15 minutes on foot from Kawaguchiko Station to the lakeside boarding point. By bus, alight at the pleasure-boat/ropeway entrance stop and walk to Lakeside Station. Allow queuing separately.

Lake Kawaguchiko Pleasure Boat Appare
河口湖遊覧船 天晴(あっぱれ)
Cruise a roughly 20-minute circuit on Appare for surrounding mountain views from the lake. Returning to the departure pier suits onward plans near the station. Ensoleille (アンソレイユ号), linking Funatsu and Oishi Park, is a separate route.
- AdmissionIndividual fares: junior-high students and older 1,000 yen, elementary students 500, preschool children free. Group/disability rates and separate Ensoleille tickets differ.
- HoursThe circuit takes about 20 minutes. Regular services run 09:00–16:30; winter services in November–March run 09:30–16:00. Check date-specific summer extensions and scheduled suspensions. Bad weather or inspections can change services.
- Getting thereThe operator gives about 10 minutes on foot from Kawaguchiko Station. Find Appare’s ticket office opposite the free Funatsu lakeside car park and board at the same pier. Ropeway Lakeside Station is opposite across Route 137; distinguish boat boarding and ropeway entrances. Follow mapped paths and on-site crossing signs. Appare returns to its departure pier; Ensoleille separately links Oishi pier, so check your ticket.

Yamanashi Prefectural Museum of Art
山梨県立美術館
Visit Kofu’s prefectural art museum for Millet and Barbizon-school works. Exhibitions are indoors, reached by bus from Kofu Station’s south side. From Kawaguchiko, allow time for travel between the two areas.
- AdmissionCollection admission: adults 520 yen, university students 220, high-school students and younger free. Special exhibitions cost extra.
- Hours09:00–17:00, last admission 16:30. Closed Mondays, or next day when Monday is a public holiday, days after public holidays and over New Year, among other closures. Check the actual exhibition calendar.
- Getting thereFrom Kofu Station south stand 1, take a designated service towards Midai, Kugawa Danchi, Shikishima via Ryuo or Nirasaki via Okusa, alighting at Yamanashi Prefectural Museum of Art. Official guidance gives about 15 minutes aboard, excluding waiting.

Yamanashi Gem Museum
山梨宝石博物館
Visit Yamanashi Gem Museum to see gems before and after cutting. Compare raw minerals, cut gems and jewellery, including a large crystal. Adult exhibitions cost 600 yen; shop-only visits have no admission fee.
- AdmissionAdults pay 600 yen and elementary/junior-high students pay 300.
- HoursMarch–October 09:00–17:30, last admission 17:00; November–February 09:30–17:00, last admission 16:30. Closed Wednesdays except public holidays, Golden Week and July–August.
- Getting thereTake the Natural Living Center-bound Red Line from Kawaguchiko Station stand 1 to stop 6, Yamanashi Gem Museum/Kawaguchiko. Match station departure/museum arrival and museum departure/station arrival rows in the same service column for your date. Ordinary adult fares of 180 yen each way were checked 8 October 2026. Follow the facility map and signs to the exhibition entrance after alighting; allow that walk separately.
- Exhibition contentCompare about 50 major gem types in sets of raw minerals, cut stones and jewellery. A large crystal, 1.8 metres high, stands towards the back of the exhibition.

Maizuru Castle Park
Maizuru Castle Park (Kofu Castle Ruins)舞鶴城公園(甲府城跡)
Explore Kofu Castle’s stone walls and restored gates in this ruins park. Stairs lead to the keep-base views; choose lower-ruin walks to reduce walking.
- AdmissionPark, Inari Turret and Kurogane Gate visits are free.
- HoursThe park is always open. Inari Turret/Kurogane Gate open 09:00–16:30, last admission 16:00. Buildings close Mondays except public holidays, days after public holidays and 29 December–3 January.
- Getting thereOfficial guidance gives about three minutes on foot from Kofu Station’s south exit. This is different from Yamanote Gate in Kofu City History Park north of the station.

Yamanashi Prefectural Fujisan World Heritage Center
山梨県立富士山世界遺産センター
After seeing Mt. Fuji, learn why it was inscribed on the World Heritage List. North Hall explores nature; South Hall explores cultural relationships between mountain and people. Both are free. South Hall closes the fourth Tuesday monthly, or next day when Tuesday is a public holiday.
- AdmissionBoth halls are free; guided visits/programmes have separate conditions.
- HoursNormal hours are 09:00–17:00; in July–August, the center opens 08:30–18:00; in December–February, it opens 09:00–16:30. Facility guidance lists last admission 15 minutes before closing, while the official FAQ gives 16:30. Confirm late admission with the center. South Hall closes the fourth Tuesday, or next day when Tuesday is a public holiday; North Hall is listed open year-round. Check temporary notices before visiting.
- Getting thereTake the Motosuko-bound Blue Line from Kawaguchiko Station stand 1 to center stop 65, then walk about one minute. Match station–center and center–station rows in your date’s timetable.
