Walk Oishi Park’s lakeside paths for views towards Mount Fuji. Flowers and plants change by season; clouds may hide the mountain.
- FeesPark walking is free. Shops and experiences cost extra.
- HoursThe park, Natural Living Centre and shops have different opening arrangements. Check individual hours if visiting the centre or shops.
- DirectionsTake the Red Line sightseeing loop bus to its Natural Living Centre terminus. Walk into the park; use the station-bound stop to return.

Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway
富士山パノラマロープウェイ
Ride for views of Kawaguchiko and Mount Fuji from above. The ascent takes roughly three minutes; allow separate queues and observation time. This is a paid facility. Clouds may hide Mount Fuji and strong winds stop services.
- FeesIndividual return fares through October 2026 are JPY 1,000 for adults and JPY 500 for children. Planned return fares from 1 November are JPY 1,200 for adults and JPY 600 for children.
- HoursHours change by season. Check travel-date final upward/downward departures and inspection-related shorter hours or suspensions with the operator.
- DirectionsThe official walk from Kawaguchiko Station to the lakeside boarding station is about 15 minutes. By bus, alight at Sightseeing Boat/Ropeway Entrance and walk to the ropeway station. Allow queues separately.

Lake Kawaguchiko sightseeing boat Appare
Lake Kawaguchiko Pleasure Boat Appare河口湖遊覧船 天晴(あっぱれ)
Appare makes a roughly 20-minute circuit with views of surrounding mountains from the lake, returning to its departure pier for onward station-area plans. Ensoleille (アンソレイユ号), connecting Funatsu and Oishi Park, is a separate route.
- FeesIndividual fares are JPY 1,000 for junior high students and above, JPY 500 for primary school children and free for preschool children. Group/disability fares and separate Ensoleille tickets differ.
- HoursA circuit takes about 20 minutes. Regular hours are 09:00–16:30; winter November–March 09:30–16:00. Check travel-date schedules for extended summer operation and regular suspensions. Weather and inspections can change services.
- DirectionsThe operator gives about ten minutes on foot from Kawaguchiko Station. Find the Appare ticket desk beside the lake in front of Funatsu free car park, boarding at the same pier. The ropeway lakeside station is across Route 137; distinguish their entrances. Follow mapped paths and on-site crossing signs. Appare returns to its departure pier; Ensoleille connects to Oishi Pier and requires a separate ticket check.

Yamanashi Prefectural Museum of Art
山梨県立美術館
Visit Kofu’s prefectural art museum for Millet and Barbizon School works. Indoor exhibits are reached by bus from Kofu Station’s south side. Starting from Kawaguchiko requires additional intercity travel time.
- FeesCollection admission costs JPY 520 for adults and JPY 220 for university students. Senior high school students and younger visitors enter free. Special exhibitions cost extra.
- HoursHours are 09:00–17:00, with last admission at 16:30. Closed Mondays, or the next day if Monday is a public holiday, days after public holidays, New Year and other dates. Check the actual exhibition calendar.
- DirectionsFrom Kofu south-side stand 1, take designated routes towards Midai, Kugawa Danchi, Shikishima via Ryuo or Nirasaki via Okusa, alighting at Yamanashi Prefectural Museum of Art. The official ride estimate is about 15 minutes, excluding waits.

Yamanashi Gem Museum
山梨宝石博物館
Visit Yamanashi Gem Museum to see gems before and after cutting. Compare rough stones, cut gems and jewellery, and see a large quartz crystal. Adult exhibition admission is JPY 600; shop-only visits have no admission charge.
- FeesAdmission costs JPY 600 for adults and JPY 300 for primary and junior high school students.
- HoursHours are 09:00–17:30 March–October, with admission until 17:00, and 09:30–17:00 November–February, with admission until 16:30. Closed Wednesdays, except public holidays, Golden Week and July–August.
- DirectionsTake the Natural Living Centre-bound Red Line from stand 1 to stop 6 Yamanashi Gem Museum/Kawaguchiko. Match station departure/museum arrival and museum departure/station arrival in the bidirectional travel-date timetable. Adult singles of JPY 180 were checked on 8 October 2026. Follow the location map and on-site signs to the exhibition entrance after alighting. Allow the entrance walk separately.
- ExhibitsCompare about 50 major gem varieties as rough stones, cut gems and jewellery sets. A large 1.8-metre quartz crystal stands towards the back of the gallery.

Maizuru Castle Park
Maizuru Castle Park (Kofu Castle Ruins)舞鶴城公園(甲府城跡)
Walk along Kofu Castle’s stone walls and through its reconstructed gates in this ruins park. The keep-platform view requires stairs. Choose lower ruins for less walking.
- FeesPark, Inari Turret and Kurogane Gate visits are free.
- HoursThe park is always open. Inari Turret and Kurogane Gate open 09:00–16:30, with admission until 16:00. The buildings close Mondays except public holidays, days after public holidays and 29 December–3 January.
- DirectionsThe official walk from Kofu Station’s south exit is about three minutes. This differs from Yamanote Gate in Kofu City Historical Park north of the station.

Yamanashi Prefectural Fujisan World Heritage Centre
Yamanashi Prefectural Fujisan World Heritage Center山梨県立富士山世界遺産センター
Visit after seeing Mount Fuji to learn why it became a World Heritage Site. The north hall explores its nature; the south hall examines cultural relationships between mountain and people. Both are free. The south hall closes fourth Tuesdays, or the following day for public holidays.
- FeesBoth halls are free. Explanations and programmes have separate conditions.
- HoursUsual hours are 09:00–17:00, changing to 08:30–18:00 July–August and 09:00–16:30 December–February. Facility guidance gives entry until 15 minutes before closing, while the official FAQ gives 16:30; confirm late admission directly. The south hall closes on the fourth Tuesday, or the next day if Tuesday is a public holiday; the north hall is listed as open year-round. Check temporary notices before visiting.
- DirectionsTake the Motosuko-bound Blue Line from stand 1 to stop 65, then walk about one minute to the centre. Match both timetable directions for your date. Adult JPY 180 one way was checked on 8 October 2026; recheck travel-date fares.

Does a gem museum shop-only visit require exhibition admission?
No. Adult mineral and gem exhibits cost JPY 600. These courses include the paid exhibits and ordinary station-return bus fares.
