Should you add Kofu to four days in Yamanashi?
For art and ruins, stay one Kofu night then two Kawaguchiko nights. Visit art first, then ruins before north-side K1 travel on day two. Afterwards, explore the north shore and gems.
For more lake time without changing hotels, stay three Kawaguchiko nights with separate deck, park and the centre and Appare days. A Kofu day trip differs from an overnight transfer course; compare return guidance below.
Choose a 3 nights, 4 days itinerary
Kofu art and castle ruins, Kawaguchiko north shore and gems
Visit Kofu’s art museum and ruins, then move to Kawaguchiko for two nights. Choose this for the north shore and gems too. Travel between cities on day two using the north-side K1 bus.

Allow the centre return, lunch, pier walk and ticket queues before a roughly 20-minute cruise returning to the same pier. Frequently asked questions
Can I make a Kofu day trip while staying in Kawaguchiko?
Coordinate morning Kofu-bound and afternoon Kawaguchiko-bound K1 services for a day trip. Check both directions and visiting time. Four-day art/ruins courses stay a Kofu night before ruins and the transfer. Compare visiting scope, transport and hotels separately from same-hotel day trips.
