The coast is accessible 24 hours without regular closing days. Shops, observation facilities and boats have seasonal hours. April–October general shop hours are listed as 09:00–17:00 and boats as 09:00–16:00. Boats may stop for sea conditions or the season.

How to get to Tojinbo

Take a Mikuni-bound Echizen Railway Mikuni Awara Line train from Fukui to Mikuni. Change to a Tojinbo-bound Keifuku bus, alight at Tojinbo and walk about five minutes to the coast. Rides take about 50 minutes by train and ten by bus, excluding waits.

The weekday railway/bus connection table was revised on 1 October 2024. Adult one-way fares are JPY 780 Fukui–Mikuni rail, JPY 280 Mikuni–Tojinbo bus and JPY 570 Tojinbo–Awara-Yunomachi bus. Check starting stations and bus direction, using separate weekend/public-holiday timetables. Check travel-date operation changes with the operator too.

Boats may stop for weather, sea conditions or the season. Check that day’s operation before leaving if you want a boat trip. Mikuni, Mikuniminato and Awaraonsen are different boarding locations; confirm your return station too.
