Stay one Atami night for former-villa buildings and garden, followed by seaside walks. Visit Kiunkaku first and Sun Beach on the final day.

Day one: Atami Station → Kiunkaku → Atami hotel

    Eat near the station, then walk about 20 minutes to Kiunkaku. Explore Japanese and Western architecture and the garden, allowing time for hillside walking and rest.

  2. Kiunkaku → Buildings and garden

    Hours are 09:00–17:00, with admission until 16:30. Closed Wednesdays except public holidays, and 26–30 December. Confirm opening for your date before exploring.

  3. Kiunkaku → Towards Atami Station

    Return about 20 minutes along the same route. Rest near the station before your hotel. Choose dinner according to whether your stay includes meals.

Day two: station → Sun Beach → station

  1. Atami Station → Sun Beach coast

    After breakfast, walk about 20 minutes from the station to the sand and promenade. Enjoy sea scenery on a separate day from architecture/art.

  2. Sun Beach coast → Atami Station

    Shorten the visit in heavy rain or wind. The uphill station return takes about 20 minutes plus rests and boarding access. Lunch can be on the way or near the station. This is a coast walk; summer swimming/water park are separate.

Kinomiya Shrine and Kiunkaku

Stay one Atami night for a shrine’s large camphor tree and former villa. Visit Kinomiya first, Kiunkaku next, with hillside walks. Finish viewing/lunch before afternoon departure.

Day one: station → Kinomiya Shrine → station-area hotel

    Walk from Atami Station: official estimate about 1.6 km/18 minutes. Explore grounds and the large camphor tree during 09:00–17:00 worship hours. Separate prayer reception ends 16:30. Follow construction-period visiting routes on site.

  2. Kinomiya Shrine → Towards Atami Station

    Return towards the station for lunch. Eighteen minutes covers station access; grounds, hillside rests and hotel approaches need extra time. If switching to buses, check stops, services and fares both ways separately.

Kiunkaku opens 09:00, about 20 minutes from the station. Beach walking also takes about 20 minutes with uphill return. Omit day-two visits for early departures; these routes finish viewing/lunch before afternoon travel.
