Sendai Marugoto Pass: two days, paper and digital tickets

The Sendai Marugoto Pass · 仙台まるごとパス is valid for two consecutive days on specified JR routes, airport rail, subways and buses around Sendai. Insert a paper pass into railway ticket gates; show a TOHOKU MaaS digital pass at a staffed gate.
When is this pass useful?
Compare it with individual fares if you will travel around Sendai and its covered neighbouring areas on two consecutive days. For one day, compare the Sendai Area Pass if you meet its passport requirements. The two days cannot be chosen separately.
Official prices and child fares
These are the operator’s prices in Japanese yen, separate from reseller prices. Adults are aged 12 or above; child fares apply to ages 6–11.

When does validity start and end?
The pass is valid for two consecutive days from your chosen start date. The accompanying coupons can only be used during those same two days.
Paper and digital tickets use different gates
Insert a paper pass into automatic gates for JR, Sendai Subway and the Sendai Airport Access Line. Show a TOHOKU MaaS digital pass at a staffed gate. The official instructions do not say to scan the digital screen at an automatic QR gate.
Which railway routes are covered?
Coverage includes the specified JR routes connecting Sendai (仙台), Matsushima (松島), Matsushimakaigan (松島海岸), Yamadera (山寺) and Shiroishi (白石), plus the whole Sendai Airport Access Line and all Sendai Subway lines. The Abukuma (あぶくま) Express is included between Tsukinoki (槻木) and Abukuma. Not every railway route around Sendai is covered.
Which buses are included?
Loople Sendai and Sendai City buses are included, excluding the Rakuten shuttle bus. Miyagi Kotsu coverage is limited to the specified route between Sendai Station and Akiu Otaki.
Where can I buy it?
Within the valid area, buy it at JR ticket offices, reserved-seat ticket machines, Travel Service Centers, major travel agencies or Sendai Airport Station ticket machines. Most sales open one month before the travel date, but airport station machines sell only passes starting on the day of purchase. Travel agencies outside the area sell the pass with a travel package that includes a visit to the area.
Where do I collect the coupon booklet?
The collection point depends on where you bought the paper pass. For purchases at JR ticket offices, Travel Service Centers or Sendai Airport Station machines, collect it at the station office. For reserved-seat machine or travel-agency purchases, collect it at the tourist information centre on the third floor of Sendai Station. Purchases from agencies outside the area can be collected at that centre or the Sendai Airport Station office.
From purchase to boarding
Choose two consecutive travel days, check the routes covered and decide between a paper and digital pass.
Check the sales conditions at your purchase point. Sendai Airport Station machines only sell passes starting that day.
Insert a paper pass into automatic gates for JR, Sendai Subway and the airport line, then retrieve it. Show a digital pass at a staffed gate.
On buses, show the pass when getting off. On the Abukuma Express, show it when boarding and getting off.
Collect the coupon booklet for a paper pass at the location designated for your purchase point. Use the coupons within the pass’s two-day validity.
Questions about this pass
Can I scan the digital pass at an automatic QR gate?
The official instructions say to show a TOHOKU MaaS digital pass at a staffed gate. Do not assume it supports automatic QR gates.
Can I buy a pass starting tomorrow at the airport station?
Sendai Airport Station ticket machines only sell passes starting on the purchase date. Other sales points offer purchases from one month before the intended travel date.
Can I choose two separate days?
No. This is a two-consecutive-day pass, starting on your selected date.
Where do I collect the coupon booklet after buying at a reserved-seat machine?
At the tourist information centre on the third floor of Sendai Station. This differs from the collection point for purchases at JR ticket offices, Travel Service Centers or airport station machines.
Can I use the coupons after the pass expires?
The coupons are valid only during the same two days as the pass. They cannot be used after that period.
