The temple opens 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. March 5–November 4 and 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. November 5–March 4. It opens year-round.

How to get to Motsuji Temple · 毛越寺

Motsuji is about 0.7 km from Hiraizumi Station; the facility guide gives a walk of about seven minutes. If adding Chusonji, you can visit Motsuji’s garden, return to the station, and take a Chusonji-bound bus. For a direct bus between the temples, check separately which routes operate on your date.
