More Time for Literature and Temples, or a Stay on the Coast?

Stay three nights in Morioka to visit the Kenji memorial museum’s literary exhibits and Hiraizumi’s temples on separate days. For separate days at the beach and the market and cruise, spend one night in Morioka followed by two in Miyako. The museum requires an uphill walk and stairs after the bus ride. If the coastal cruise is canceled, skip the sailing and spend time at the market and walking in the city. The Kenji museum itinerary includes ¥340 for the bus round trip between Shin-Hanamaki Station and the museum entrance stop. You can also buy regular train tickets; the itinerary uses a reference round-trip local-train fare of ¥3,200. Use an official fare search if your date or train differs. If you already have a pass, confirm its validity and eligibility before buying a duplicate ticket for the covered JR section.

Can I use the Miyako city bus day pass for the sightseeing cruise?

The bus pass alone does not let you board. Present that day’s ¥500 city pass to buy a separate discounted adult cruise ticket for ¥1,500. The four-day, three-night coastal itinerary counts one bus pass for the beach day and another for the cruise day.
