The observation tower opens 9:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m., with last admission at 8:50 p.m. Shops, restaurants, and the indoor garden have different hours.

From the free observation room, look down over the port and sea, then explore the view toward Akita city. See both sides during your visit.

How to get to SELION

At stop 4 in Akita Station's west-side bus terminal, board the Selion route and get off at Selion. The bus ride takes about 25 minutes and costs ¥550 one way for an adult. Allow extra time for waiting and walking from the stop to the entrance. Use the Port Tower's front entrance for the observation room; Rista and Plaza are different buildings. You can also walk from JR Tsuchizaki Station, about two kilometers (1.2 miles) or 25 minutes. JR fares are separate.

Visit tips

The return bus after sunset

If you want to see the sunset, check the weather and bus back to Akita Station together. Set your viewing time around the return bus rather than staying late based only on the observation room's hours. Check restaurant hours separately if you also plan a meal.
