Admission

The individual combined ticket for the Western Precinct, Gallery of Temple Treasures, and Eastern Precinct costs ¥2,000 for adults, college and high school students; ¥1,700 for junior high students; ¥1,000 for elementary students. Admission is payable in cash only. Groups of 30 or more have separate rates. The official guide dates the fare revision to March 1, 2025.

Hours are 8 a.m.–5 p.m. February 22–November 3 and 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. November 4–February 21. Reception ends 30 minutes before closing: 4:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. respectively. Special openings have separate dates and guidance.

How to get to Horyuji Temple · 法隆寺

Take a Yamatoji Line train from JR Nara Station to Horyuji. Leave through the North Exit and walk about 20 minutes to Horyuji's South Main Gate. This differs from the bus route departing the South Exit; check your exit. If using the bus, look up your date's times and fare separately.

The walk from JR Horyuji Station's North Exit to the South Main Gate takes about 20 minutes. After arriving, allow time to reach reception and explore the Western Precinct, Gallery of Temple Treasures, and Eastern Precinct. Some facilities may be unavailable near closing, so arrive with time to spare.
