Admission
Individual admission costs ¥500 for adults and ¥170 for elementary and junior high school students; preschool children enter free. Admission is free on January 1 and March 16. Boat rides and the teahouse cost extra.
Opening hours
The garden opens year-round, with seasonal gate hours. It opens 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. in January and December, 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. in February, 6:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m. in March, 5:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m. in April–May and September, 5:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m. in June–August, 6:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. in October, and 6:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. in November. The garden may close temporarily during a storm or blizzard warning.

How to get to Ritsurin Garden · 栗林公園
If traveling by Kotoden, get off at Ritsurin-Koen Station and walk about 7 minutes toward the East Gate. If using JR, get off at Ritsurin-Koen-Kitaguchi Station and walk about 3 minutes toward the North Gate. These are separate stations. The walking times come from the official access guide and exclude traffic lights, ticket purchases, and your garden visit.

Choose the East or North Gate
Walk toward the East Gate from Kotoden Ritsurin-Koen Station or toward the North Gate from JR Ritsurin-Koen-Kitaguchi Station. They are separate stations, so choose your exit gate to match the train you will take afterward.
