The tunnel lets you walk beneath the strait from Shimonoseki to Moji. Its 780-meter passage connects Yamaguchi and Fukuoka prefectures.

Pedestrians enter free. Bicycles/mopeds cost 20 yen; dismount and push them inside.

Take the elevator to the undersea passage
Descend by elevator at Shimonoseki’s entrance to the undersea passage toward Moji. Walk beneath the sea to Fukuoka Prefecture on the other side.
How to get to Kanmon Pedestrian Tunnel · 関門トンネル人道
From Shimonoseki stands 1/2, take a Kokudo Line bus to Mimosusogawa, then walk about one minute to the pedestrian entrance. From Karato, use stand 6. Adults pay 300 yen one way. Descend by elevator for the 780-meter Moji passage. Before setting out, check date-specific buses both ways and the Mimosusogawa return-stop position.

Pedestrian access and bicycles
Use the pedestrian entrance, separate from road/JR tunnels. Dismount bicycles/mopeds and push them through. Going to Moji and back covers 1.56 km inside the tunnel alone.
