Admission

Permanent exhibition admission is ¥700 for adults living outside Matsue City and free for junior high school students and younger; that free admission applies from July 1, 2026. Adult groups of 20 or more pay ¥560 each; Matsue residents pay ¥350. Special exhibition fees vary. The adult castle keep/history museum permanent exhibition combined ticket is ¥1,520, valid for 10 days from first use. Separate tickets cost ¥1,200 and ¥700, totaling ¥1,900. The combined ticket excludes history museum special exhibitions.

How to get to Matsue History Museum · 松江歴史館

Take the Lakeline from JR Matsue Station's stop 7 to Otemae Horikawa Yūransen Noriba/Rekishikan-mae · 大手前堀川遊覧船乗場・歴史館前, then walk about three minutes. Return from the same stop on the circular bus to Matsue Station.
