Pagoda exteriors and Kozan Park are free. Special interior visits on specified 2026 dates cost 1,700 yen per adult or child and require booking.
Opening hours
Park and pagoda exteriors have no closure days. Goshuin stamp reception and the Rurikoji museum are open 09:00–17:00. Kozan Park-front tourist information is open 09:00–18:00; pagoda illumination runs sunset–22:00. Special interiors operate only on specified dates/sessions.

How to get to Rurikoji Temple's Five-storied Pagoda · 瑠璃光寺五重塔
Take a Yamaguchi-bound local JR train from Shin-Yamaguchi to Yamaguchi Station, about 25 minutes, then walk about 25 minutes to Rurikoji. Check station, Ichinosaka River and Kozan Park on the official city map. Return by the same walk and Shin-Yamaguchi-bound local train. Choose returns allowing station access and your next journey after Shin-Yamaguchi arrival. Adults pay 240 yen one way, 480 return, included in guide courses using this section. Allow 45–60 minutes for pagoda exteriors and Kozan Park. For interiors, check specified dates, sessions and booking conditions for October–December 2026 visits. Allow station travel, meals and train waits separately.
