Matsuyama Airport to the city and Dogo Onsen
Select the drop-off point closest to your accommodation: JR Matsuyama Station, Matsuyama City Station, Okaido, or Dogo Onsen. You can take an airport limousine to get to key points quickly or a regular bus to save money. You can save on transfers by taking a bus to Dogo Onsen accommodation. Please distinguish this from the service that ends at Matsuyama City Station.

Bus boarding steps at the arrival hall on the 1st floor
- After completing immigration and baggage pickup, go to the bus stop outside the arrival hall on the 1st floor. There are no rail or streetcars available directly from the airport.
- For regular route buses, go to number 3, and for limousines, go to numbers 4 and 5. Numbers 6 and 7 are where the limousine drops you off when you arrive at the airport, so don't confuse them with the line heading city centre.
- Check your destination and windshield destination. When going to Dogo Onsen, use the sign ‘道後温泉駅前’, and when going only to Matsuyama City Station, use the sign ‘松山市駅’. More important than whether the name on the sign is the same as the name of your accommodation is how long it will be until you get off and get to your accommodation.
- On the limousine bus, board through the front door and pay when boarding. When paying with cash on a regular bus, you receive a numbered ticket when you get on, and insert the numbered ticket and fare when you get off. Touch the transport IC card to the terminal when getting on and off the bus. On trams, tap your transport IC card when getting off.
- You must load and unload luggage into the limousine trunk yourself. Take power banks and valuables into the car, and check the number of bags again before getting off.
Official information supports nationwide reciprocal transport IC card and Mikan app payment, and provides a 20 yen discount on adult fares compared to cash. Credit card contactless payments should not be considered the same thing.
Prepare change for cash, and check the instructions for 1,000 yen notes when exchanging banknotes. When bringing a large suitcase onto a regular bus or tram, please inquire with the operator about the size and quantity requirements and manage it so that it does not block the aisle.
Limousines do not take reservations, so if they are full, you may have to take the next service. For Iyotetsu Airport transportation inquiries, call 089-972-2511. Information hours are 10:00 - 12:00 and 13:00 - 16:00 JST. 089-972-2511

Compare transportation options according to your accommodation location
The time below is the time it takes after getting into the vehicle. Immigration inspection, baggage retrieval, waiting for the bus, transfer, and walking to the accommodation must be added separately. Depending on congestion and service, transferring to a tram is not always faster than a direct bus.
| Transportation | Destination and drop-off location | Adult one-way fare (JPY) | Approximate on-board journey time | Number of transfers | Reservation availability | Conditions for using large luggage | When recommended |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Limousine | JR Station / Matsuyama City Station C2 | Cash 1,000 / IC/Mikan 980 | Approximately 15 minutes / 24 minutes | Direct | No reservations, beware of full seats | Direct loading and recovery of trunk | Accommodation near JR transfer and two stations |

| Regular route bus | JR Station / Matsuyama City Station | Cash 530 / 640 (20 yen discount each for cashless) | Approximately 20-25 minutes / 30-35 minutes | Direct | Boarding at the stop | Inquiry regarding conditions for direct management and large luggage in the car | When price is prioritized over time |
| Regular route bus | Ichibancho / In front of Dogo Onsen Station | Cash 720 / 830 (20 yen discount each for cashless) | Approximately 35-40 minutes / 49-55 minutes | Direct | Check whether to go to the island or not | Inquiry regarding conditions for direct management and large luggage in the car | When travelling cheaply even if there are many stops |
| Regular bus + streetcar | JR Station → No. 5 / City Station → No. 3 → Dogo | Cash 530+250=780 / 640+250=890 | Bus + tram about 25 minutes / 20 minutes | 1 transfer | Separate tank waiting | Direct transportation when transferring | Comparison of connecting flights when waiting for a non-stop service is long |
| Taxi/reserved vehicle | To the accommodation address | Check meter or reservation quotation/surcharge conditions | Check by destination and road conditions | Direct | On-site dispatch or advance reservation | Check vehicle type, number of people, and luggage | Late arrival and moving to the front door of the accommodation |
| Hire car | Airport reception → Company pick-up location → Accommodation | Quote by date and vehicle type (parking and fuel excluded) | Procedures, transfer to sales office + driving | Check whether the company shuttles | Check licence and business hours in advance | Check load capacity by vehicle type | When travelling together outside the city |
The tram ride costs 250 yen cash and 230 yen cashless. When you transfer from a regular bus to a tram, you pay each fare, and the above total is based on cash. Airport limousines cannot be used only between city stops, so check the tram or city bus when going from JR Station to Dogo Onsen.

Airport transfer map and final city connections
This is a conceptual diagram of the movement path. The blue dotted line represents the airport bus, the purple line represents the streetcar transfer, and the brown line represents the walking connection. It is a direction of travel between points and is not an actual road, rail, or pedestrian alignment.
The bus travel direction is Airport → JR Station → Matsuyama City Station → Okaido → Dogo Onsen, and depending on the destination, it tends to end somewhere in the middle.

JR Matsuyama Station: If you are changing trains or staying near the station
JR Matsuyama Station · 松山駅
- From the airport, take a limousine via JR Station from numbers 4 or 5, or a regular bus from number 3. Cash fares are 1,000 yen and 530 yen respectively.
- Get off at JR Matsuyama Station and follow the new station information signs on site. Check the on-site information for the drop-off point number and do not assume it is the same as the airport pick-up point number.
- The current station is on the ticket gates on level 1 and train platforms on level 3. If you are transferring to JR, you can check the destination and platform number and then take the elevator. When going to your accommodation, do not enter the train ticket gate, but check the address to see which direction your accommodation is in, east or west.
The area around the station is under renovation, so if you only look at the map before the station in 2024, the route may be different from the current route. Matsuyama City announces that a temporary pedestrian passageway has opened between the north entrance of the new station and the underpass leading to the tram stop from August 31, 2026. When transferring from JR to a Dogo-bound tram, check this passageway and the on-site guidance signs.
The city announces that it has secured a passageway width of at least 2m and installed night lights and Braille blocks. For traffic locations during construction, please give priority to the latest notice below.

Matsuyama City Station: This is a different station from JR Station.
Matsuyama City Station · 松山市駅
- From the airport, select the bus via Matsuyama City Station. Cash for limousine is 1,000 yen, regular bus is 640 yen.
- Limousines drop off at drop-off point C2. Separate this from the B3 boarding point you use to return to the airport. When getting off a regular bus, follow the on-site instructions for your convenience.
- Check the address and walk to hotels near the station. If you transfer to the Iyotetsu suburban train or take streetcar number 3 to Dogo Onsen, follow the signs for each platform.
The tram from the city station to Dogo Onsen takes about 20 minutes and costs 250 yen in cash. If you want to take a limousine to Dogo, you must select the one bound for Dogo at the airport rather than taking a new one at the city station.

Okaido Accommodation: Stop names vary depending on the bus
Okaido · 大街道
Ichibancho · 一番町
Compare getting off at Okaido for limousines and Ichibancho for regular route buses. The names are different and the stop locations are not the same. The limousine costs 1,200 yen in cash, approximately 29 minutes, and the regular bus costs 720 yen, approximately 35 to 40 minutes. The remaining walk will vary depending on which end of the shopping district your accommodation is at.
- Choose a limousine from the airport to Okaido or a regular bus via Ichibancho. The last stop at Matsuyama City Station does not reach here.
- After getting off, check the walking route from the drop-off point to your destination using your accommodation address. The limousine's drop-off point for city arrivals and the pick-up point for the airport on the Mitsukoshi side are separate.
- If you are visiting Matsuyama Castle, walk to the ropeway platform below. Set the ropeway boarding station as your destination, rather than the castle tower on the hill.

Dogo Onsen: After getting off the bus, walk to the main building and accommodation.
Dogo Onsen Station · 道後温泉駅

- Take the limousine from Airport No. 4 or 5 to Dogo Onsen Station. Cash 1,200 yen, ride approximately 40 minutes. For regular buses, take number 3 to Dogo, cost 830 yen in cash, and take about 49 to 55 minutes.
- Get off at the stop in front of Dogo Onsen Station and check the location of the station and Hojoen. The bus drop-off point and tram station are separate. If you transfer to the tram, get off at Dogo Onsen Station.
- The main building is located along the Dogo Haikara-dori shopping street. Individual hotels may have different directions from the main building and some are located on hills, so please use the accommodation address for directions.

Basic bathing at ‘Kami-no-yu’ in the main building without a rest area is from 6:00 to 23:00, last admission at 22:30, and costs 700 yen for adults. Registration for other lounges and courses ends earlier.
Just because you can arrive at Dogo does not mean you can take a bath on the same day, so check the reception time and congestion situation for your desired course.

Get to Matsuyama Castle from the ropeway boarding point at the bottom of the mountain.
Matsuyama Castle · 松山城
Shinonomeguchi Station · 東雲口駅
From Okaido, walk along the ropeway street for about 5 minutes to arrive at Shinonomeguchi Station. Buy a ticket on the 1st floor and board on the 3rd floor. The ropeway ride takes about 3 minutes, and you need to get off at Chojaganaru · 長者ヶ平 on the mountain and walk for about 10 more minutes to the castle tower. Do not use your arrival time at the ropeway boarding point as the start time for your castle tour.
If you depart from JR Station, Matsuyama City Station, or Dogo Onsen, take the tram to Okaido and then compare the walking route. Asking first whether large luggage can be stored at your accommodation will reduce the burden of moving it. Check the operating hours of the ropeway, lift, and castle tower separately for the season and operation status.

Below are the directions from the airport to the city. Do not be confused with the timetable in the opposite direction from the station/Dogo Onsen to the airport.
- Limousine: Airport 21:30 → JR Station 21:45 → Matsuyama City Station 21:54 → Okaido 21:59 → In front of Dogo Onsen Station 22:10. This is the last scheduled service in the table for October 1-24, 2026, and there is no day limit indicated in that row.
- Regular bus weekdays: Airport 20:10 → JR Station 20:29 → Matsuyama City Station 20:39 → Ichibancho 20:43 → Dogo Onsen Station 20:54.
- Regular buses on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays: The last bus bound for JR Station and Matsuyama City Station departs at 20:20 and arrives at 20:39 and 20:47, respectively. This part ends at the city station. The last route to Ichibancho and Dogo Onsen departs at 19:40 and arrives at Ichibancho and Dogo at 20:14 and 20:26. The Saturday, Sunday, and public holiday schedule also applies from December 29th to January 3rd.
- Streetcar to Dogo: City Station No. 3, last stop 22:01 → 22:21, JR Station No. 5, last stop 22:00 → 22:25. At the time of confirmation, the officially published version is the revised table on November 1, 2023. Connection is not guaranteed as you will need to walk and wait to get to the bus stop after getting off the bus.
Limousines can wait for your arrival when your flight is delayed, but if you are significantly late, they can direct you to the next bus. Not all international arriving passengers or the last bus will necessarily be waiting.
If you are late, first ask about the remaining destination at the bus stop and inform your accommodation of your expected arrival time and whether late check-in is possible. After October 25th you will need to check again with the new limousine timetable.
If your bus is over or you miss your transfer to Dogo
After exiting the arrival hall on the first floor of the airport, check the official taxi stand on the right side of the front entrance. Show the Japanese address rather than the name of the accommodation and ask about the estimated total amount, night surcharge, additional costs, and luggage availability.
When paying by card or smartphone, check the corresponding vehicle display and do not assume that on-site dispatch is always possible. The reserved vehicle is compared to the actual company, pickup location, and vehicle number.

Matsuyama Airport Transportation, Frequently asked questions
How do I get from Matsuyama Airport to the city?
Take the Iyotetsu Limousine at numbers 4 or 5 outside the arrival hall on the first floor of the airport, or take a regular bus at number 3. First, check the drop-off point and bus destination closest to your accommodation among JR Station, Matsuyama City Station, Okaido, or Dogo Onsen. There is no rail station at the airport.
Are JR Matsuyama Station and Matsuyama City Station the same place?
This is a different station. If you are taking the JR train, choose JR Matsuyama Station, Iyotetsu Suburban Train, or Matsuyama City Station if you are staying near the station. Once you get off at the JR station, follow the new station guide on site. The ticket gate is on the 1st floor and the train platform is on the 3rd floor. When transferring to the tram, check the temporary passageway opening in 2026 connecting the north entrance and the tram stop underpass.
Where should I get off at Okaido accommodation?
For limousines, get off at Okaido (大街道), and for regular route buses, get off at Ichibancho (一番町). The names and locations are different, so check the remaining walk to the accommodation address. The limousine's pick-up point for the airport and drop-off point for arrival in the city are also separate.
Can I go directly from the airport to Dogo Onsen?
There are limousines and regular buses that stop in front of Dogo Onsen Station. Some routes end at Matsuyama City Station, so check the destination. Limousine rides take about 40 minutes, and regular bus rides take about 49 to 55 minutes. Waiting, entry, and walking times are separate.
What is the difference between a limousine and a regular route bus?
Limousines stop at key points and load and unload luggage directly into the lower trunk. Regular route buses stop at every stop. Please manage your luggage directly on board the bus. Please contact the operator for the allowable range of large luggage. Adult cash fares are 1,000 yen/530 yen at JR Station, 1,000 yen/640 yen at Matsuyama City Station, 1,200 yen/720 yen at Okaido/Ichibancho, and 1,200 yen/830 yen in front of Dogo Onsen Station.
Do I need to make a reservation for the airport bus?
Iyotetsu Limousine does not take reservations, and if all seats are full, you can use the next service. You can also board regular route buses at the bus stop. For separately reserved vehicles, check the pick-up and cancellation conditions of the company you reserved.
How do I pay?
On the limousine bus, board through the front door and pay when boarding. If you use cash on regular route buses, you receive a numbered ticket when you get on, and you insert the numbered ticket and fare when you get off. According to the official information, payment with a nationwide transport IC card or Mikan app is 20 yen cheaper than cash. To use a transport IC card, follow the boarding and alighting payment instructions on the terminal in the car. Do not confuse credit card contactless payment with transport IC card payment.
Can I use it with a large suitcase?
Passengers are responsible for loading and retrieving the limousine trunk. Please take spare batteries and valuables into the car. On regular buses and streetcars, manage your baggage so that it does not block the aisles, and contact Iyotetsu about the size and number of large bags.
How do I get from the Dogo Onsen bus stop to the main building?
Get off in front of Dogo Onsen Station, check the location of the station and Hojoen, and walk along Dogo Haikara-dori shopping street to the main building. The bus stop, tram station, and main building are not at the same point, and if your accommodation is on a hill, the route to the main building and the route to the accommodation will be different.
How do I get to the Matsuyama Castle ropeway platform?
If you walk about 5 minutes from Okaido toward the ropeway street, you can reach Shinonomeguchi Station at the bottom of the mountain. Buy a ticket on the first floor and go up to the boarding area on the third floor. It takes about 10 more minutes to walk from Chojaganaru on the mountain to the castle tower.
What should I do if my flight is late and I miss the last departure?
For limousines, the last departure from the airport for all four destinations in the October 1-24, 2026 table is at 21:30. The bus may wait if your flight is delayed, but if it is significantly late, you may be advised to take the next service. Since boarding the last bus is not guaranteed, ask on site for remaining buses. If not, ask at an official taxi stand or a reserved vehicle for transportation to your accommodation.
