Admission

Standard individual admission is JPY 1,600 for ages 18 and over and ages 15–17, JPY 1,300 for ages 12–14 and JPY 850 for ages 6–11. For senior high school students and older, admission is JPY 1,900 on 27 April–7 May and 1 July–31 August 2026, or JPY 1,350 in December–February. Junior high school students pay JPY 1,300 normally and at peak, or JPY 1,050 off-peak; primary school students pay JPY 850 normally and at peak, or JPY 700 off-peak. Check the fee table for your date and age or school category.

Opening hours

Main entrance reception is 08:30–17:30 in March–November, with cave visits until 18:30. In December–February, reception is 08:30–16:30 and visits end at 17:30. Lift and Kurotani entrance reception is 08:30–16:30, with visits until 17:30. The cave opens daily.

How to get to Akiyoshi-do Cave

Take a Bocho Bus service to Akiyoshi-do from stand 2 at Shin-Yamaguchi Station's north bus terminal. Get off at Akiyoshi-do and walk through the shopping street to the main entrance. Return from the same stop on a Shin-Yamaguchi Station-bound bus. Before departure, check services in both directions, the last return and fares for your date. This bus fare is excluded from the guide's itinerary costs.

Before you visit

Footwear and your exit

Cave surfaces can be slippery and there are steps; wear comfortable shoes with good grip. Allow about 90 minutes for a visit returning to the main entrance, plus lunch and walks to the bus stop. If using a different exit, check your route back to the bus stop first.
