Admission
For junior high students and older, return tickets cost JPY 2,500 and one-way tickets JPY 1,550. For primary school students, return tickets cost JPY 700 and one-way tickets JPY 450. Preschool children travel free. Prices were revised on 1 August 2026.

Opening hours
The standard first service is at 09:00. The last service is at 16:20 from March–early November and at 15:40 from mid-November–February. Each ride takes about ten minutes; check downward departure times. Winds of 25 m/s or more, bad weather or regular inspections may suspend operations.

Gourd Line from Summit Park Station
The Gourd Line is a walk near Summit Park Station. Enjoy mountain views after alighting, using only sections open that day after checking weather and trail guidance.
How to get to Hakkoda Ropeway
Take JR buses towards Lake Towada/Sukayu to ロープウェー駅前. The adult one-way fare is JPY 1,290. Autumn/winter routes and reservations differ; check both journeys for your date. Eligible winter Aomori/Shin-Aomori departures require advance reservations, with JPY 300 per booking extra. The notice states that reservations are not accepted for ropeway-stop-to-Aomori returns.

October 2026 early starts and November suspension
October 2026 first services move to 08:30 weekdays, 08:15 weekends/public holidays. Suspension is scheduled 8–20 November 2026 for inspection and power work; leave ropeway visits out then.
For winter hiking or skiing
Scenic visits, winter hikes and skiing need different preparation. Check trail guidance and equipment for your activity. Ropeway admission does not mean all trails open.
