One night in Saga: Yoshinogari or a Takeo bath
Spend one night near Saga Station, then choose a historic-site walk or a bath on day two. Yoshinogari suits exploring a large park; Takeo Motoyu suits a bath and rest. Both options sightsee into the afternoon, so omit day-two sightseeing or add a night before a morning flight to Seoul.
Choose an itinerary for 2 days / 1 night

Choose this for exhibitions in a reconstructed castle building and an ancient settlement. Stay one night near Saga Station, visiting the castle first and Yoshinogari the next day. It assumes a daytime arrival and afternoon departure. Omit day-two sightseeing for a morning flight to Seoul.

Saga Airport buses and JR tickets
Read these points when planning airport departure and rail travel days.
Do international Saga Airport buses run every day?
Choose an airport-bound bus from Saga Station Bus Center that connects with your booked flight. In Saga City Bus's dated timetables, distinguish domestic and international services, operating days and stops. The direct Seoul and Taipei connections use stand 1 at Saga Station Bus Center and international stand 2 at the airport, separate from domestic stand 1. The direct international journey takes about 30 minutes and costs JPY 600 per adult one way. Airport buses are excluded from itinerary subtotals. If collecting luggage from accommodation, allow time to do so and reach the bus centre.
Direct international buses run on flight operating days; do not assume the same departure time every day. They also differ from domestic services stopping at Hakubutsukan-mae near Saga Castle. Use the departure conditions above to decide whether sightseeing fits, then allow time at the airport for airline check-in and baggage deadlines and security.
These stand and fare details are based on the 1–24 October 2026 timetable. For travel from 25 October, check the new timetable for flights, bus times and stops.

Do you need the Northern Kyushu Rail Pass for travel within Saga?
These itinerary costs add individual tickets and admission. They do not assume the pass is cheaper. The JR Northern Kyushu Rail Pass covers local trains and eligible services such as Limited Express Midori within its Northern Kyushu area, including Saga, for three or five consecutive days. Even on a four-night trip, check that your actual JR travel days fit its validity.
Airport buses, Yutoku Bus, Showa Bus, admission and bathing cost extra. Eligibility requires a non-Japanese tourist residing outside Japan and entering under Temporary Visitor conditions. Check seat reservations and services for your date. If adding JR travel to Fukuoka, Nagasaki or elsewhere, compare all eligible rail costs with the pass price. Those extra destinations' travel and sightseeing times are excluded from these Saga itineraries.
