Saga in 1 night / 2 days: Yoshinogari or a Takeo bath
Stay one night near Saga Station and choose either a ruins walk or bathing on day 2. Yoshinogari suits a walk through a large park; Takeo Motoyu suits a short bath and rest. Both itineraries continue sightseeing into the afternoon, so skip day 2 sightseeing or stay another night if taking a morning flight to Seoul.

Saga Airport buses and JR ticket checks
Read these when planning your airport departure day and rail travel days.
Does Saga Airport's international bus run every day?
Choose an airport-bound bus from Saga Station Bus Center that matches your booked flight. In Saga City Bus's period-specific timetables, distinguish domestic and international services, operating dates, and stopping routes. The direct international buses for Seoul and Taipei flights use stop 1 at Saga Station Bus Center and international stop 2 at the airport, separate from domestic airport stop 1. The direct international ride takes about 30 minutes and costs ¥600 per adult one way. Airport bus fares are outside the itinerary subtotals. If leaving luggage at your lodging, allow time to collect it and reach the bus center.
Direct international buses follow flight operating days; do not assume the same departure time every day. They also differ from domestic services that stop at Hakubutsukan-mae by Saga Castle. Decide whether to sightsee using the departure conditions above, then allow time after reaching the airport for your airline's check-in and baggage deadlines and security screening.
The boarding stops and fares above come from the October 1–24, 2026 timetable. For travel October 25 or later, check the new timetable for flights, bus times, and stopping routes.

Do I need the Northern Kyushu Rail Pass for travel within Saga?
These itinerary costs add individual tickets and facility fees. They do not calculate the pass as a cheaper option. The JR Northern Kyushu Rail Pass covers local trains and services such as the Limited Express Midori on eligible Northern Kyushu sections, including Saga, for 3 or 5 consecutive days. Even on a 4-night / 5-day trip, match its validity to your actual JR travel days if those are spread out.
Airport buses, Yutoku Bus, Shōwa Bus, admission, and bathing fees cost extra. Eligibility requires non-Japanese nationality, residence outside Japan, and entry under Temporary Visitor status. Check seat reservations and service on your dates as well. If adding JR trips to Fukuoka, Nagasaki, or elsewhere, compare total rail fares with the pass price. Round-trip travel time and sightseeing in those additional areas are outside this Saga itinerary.
